Jay dives back into dinosaurs this time through the strange, nostalgic fever dream of Dinotopia (2002), where humans and talking dinosaurs somehow coexist in a perfectly civilised utopia.

From Lee Evans voicing a neurotic Stenonychosaurus to the science of extinction, evolution, and why birds are technically modern dinosaurs, this episode blends childhood memory with real-world palaeontology. Along the way, Jay asks the big question: if Dinotopia were real, could humans actually live alongside dinosaurs—or would it collapse into chaos faster than a Jurassic Park sequel?

Expect a mix of humour, science, and existential dread, covering everything from city planning with brachiosaurs to dinosaur ethics, modern ecology, and why we already live in a low-budget version of Dinotopia (we just call them pigeons).

It’s part nostalgia trip, part reality check and part reminder that if humans ever did share the world with giant prehistoric creatures, we’d probably find a way to make it weird.

After disappearing for six years, Jay Finlayson returns with the most on-brand comeback possible, no plan, no structure, and far too much to explain. Torture porn is a name given to a genre of films that exploits violence and torture of the film characters for satisfaction of the antagonist, but can it also be used as stereotypical porn? In this episode I use Adam Rehmeier's 2012 The Bunny Game as an example of similar films that are boarding pornographic material.
