Poetry On Life

Ramdomly yours

Listen Later

What is Love and why revered

Then cast aside as detritus,

Why do some believe in God

And, the rest don’t sit beside us,

When nothing divides one from the other

Then, why do we create boundaries,

Offensive, these, must be to the Lord

Will He also, one day, need a Visa, please

Tell us, you supposed “wise guys”

Those we put in power,

For you to then in glory display

The sham, stupidity and avarice

From that, temporary, gilded, Ivory Tower.

Is this what we call Democracy,

Houses, Palaces, coloured or white,

The terms of office so sacrosanct

When, no one but you is right

And, the sad, sorry-looking, you

Then, looking for something else to do

Perhaps, then some memoirs

A “glorious” book or two

That, no one will ever read

For, we only remember what is good

And that, mostly, was never the deed.
