What does it mean to empower someone? When we hear the term ‘civil servant’ we often think of someone who, well… serves. But as our guest today will tell you, serving the public is about more than doing things for people. It’s also about helping people take their next step, whether it’s personal or professional, by helping them grow and develop. This interview was recorded in summer 2022. Since our interview, Shannon has transitioned into an exciting new role as the Deputy Chief of Staff at the DOE Grid Deployment Office.

A great design can make all the difference. Take Ramplify’s album art, for instance. When we set out to create this show last year, we wanted to create an image that conveyed both impact and inspiration. We brought this idea to Suffolk’s very own Office of Marketing and Communications and, with the help of their Art Director, Denise Lang, we created something flashy, yet refined. 

If you didn’t know, Ramplify’s album art is actually award-winning. We recently sat down with Denise Lang to learn a bit more about this recent distinction and her career in design in general.

Collin Knight is the owner and operator of Live Like a Local Tours Boston, a tour service committed to exploring the food, history, and culture of Boston, Massachusetts. Live Like a Local Tours provides a unique experience, focusing on the culture and history of neighborhoods like Roxbury, Dorchester, and Jamaica Plain. As Collin notes, his company provides an experience in neighborhoods that are less explored by tourists and Boston natives alike. We spoke with Collin about his career path as an entrepreneur and his mission in launching Live Like a Local Tours.
