Kailey is in Vancouver on the first leg of this year's big trip and she's seen the new film A Light Between Oceans which has only just premiered in Venice. The film stars Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander and was partly shot in New Zealand last year. Dan talks to huge film fan and regular two-word review tweeter Simon Bunckenburg about going to the movies in London.

Kailey is in Canada for the final week of the Toronto International Film Festival where she saw ten films in three days. Meanwhile Dan is joined in Silverstream by Phil Smith to review Pete's Dragon and Steve Newall Skypes in to talk about their survey of the best films of 2016 (so far).

Kailey's contract at NZIFF has finished so she can start reviewing again - so she starts by catching up with the new Ghostbusters. Dan gets back in to the commercial release scene with Laika's Kubo and the Two Strings. And the pair wrap-up this year's NZIFF highlights.

NZIFF director Bill Gosden visits Rancho Notorious for freshly baked muffins and freshly brewed coffee and to chat about this year's event which opens in Auckland on Thursday. Dan also talks to the Incredibly Strange strand programmer Ant Timpson over Skype and interviews Canadian director Atom Egoyan about his new feature Remember which stars Christopher Plummer and Martin Landau.

Newstalk ZB's Darren Bevan bravely steps in to Kailey's role for a week while she works hard to launch the 2016 NZIFF programme. On that exciting subject, Darren, Dan and Doug Dillaman discuss Monday's announcement in detail including trends, highlights and hidden gems. Also, Dan talks to German director Giulio Ricciarelli whose debut feature Labyrinth of Lies was Germany's selection for the Best Foreign Language Oscar this year and arrives in New Zealand this weekend.

Kailey and Dan are back and, in what might be the most self-indulgent episode ever recorded, they try and summarise five weeks of moviegoing in less than an hour, with only essential diversions into topics like doughnuts, volunteer fire-fighting and Hutt Valley real estate.
