  • 48 - Can You Drive?

Bonjour, tout le monde! I am FINALLY back after a LONG leave! I hesitated for a very long time to post this episode all around driving because it was to be published around the same week the #blacklivesmatter movement started. Because this story is set in Africa and sheds a bit of a "funny" light on African ways, I wasn't sure I should publish it. However, this is my story, it happened over 15 years ago and I can't say for how things are now. I hope you will enjoy it for what it is: a personal little story all around driving. It is in no way my intention to hurt or offend anyone with this episode. // Full transcription is available on my website thefrenchcompass.com. // On a side note: can you tell I paid someone to do the editing, mixing and mastering of this week's episode? I'm honestly facepalming over not having done this sooner to spare your ears. My takeaway: stick to what you do best and let others do the rest! Have a wonderful weekend, the sun is still shining behind the rain clouds. Lisiane

  • 45 - What Would You Do If You Were Broke?
👋 Hey all, I hope you are all in good health and staying safe from this "calamity". 👀 I think about you often and hope you will enjoy this new episode! ☺️ Little warning: this one is very close to normal spoken French, including familiar French/slang and dropping "e"s and other vowels. Hopefully it won't be too challenging - it's good practice for listening to native speakers or TV series! 😉 Phrase by phrase translation is included and for full transcription, see the show notes on my website thefrenchcompass.com // Take care & stay safe, 🌺 Lisiane
