After making history with eleven total award nominations (five nationally and six locally), five total wins, 206 shows, being the first streaming media outlet in the Toledo market to outperform the traditional radio outlets in total streams and becoming the most celebrated radio program in Owens Community College history, it's time for Randomosity to say goodbye...but, we're doing it in style!
We're down to the final two shows, and what better way to take it home for Vinylthon 2025 this Saturday than with the boys from RUSH with their classic 1976 LP, "2112"!
We're in our final three episodes of the award-winning Randomosity on Owens Community College Radio, and we've got an 80's rock gem to kick off your April. It's become a cult favorite among the fans of the boys from Jersey, and we're proud to bring it to you. This week, we profile 7800 Fahrenheit from Bon Jovi!
IT'S TOTALLY AWESOME, this week on Randomosity: Revisited. We take you back to last year's Vinylthon on Owens Community College Radio and our salute to the 1980's. We had a special interview with MTV original VJ, Martha Quinn. Also, formerly of IHEARTRADIO's 92.5 KISS FM in the late 90's and early 2000's, and the Cumulus branded Q105, WRQN, and 94.5 WXKR, local Toledo radio personality Russ Ryder was in-studio. Plus, "where were you when", profiling historical events from the decade of decadence that changed the world.
Here's something kind of fun. It's a show that Dr. Jay Thomas does NOT remember doing. Honestly, he doesn't. Apparently his special elixir was a little too strong that day. Regardless, here's another episode of RANDOMOSITY: Revisited, this time going back to the fall of 2022, featuring who knows what with who knows who. ENJOY! :=)
This week on Randomosity: Revisited, we take you back to a show that was originally scheduled for air in September 2023, but was pulled last minute for content reasons. If you are a stand-up fan, you know the name. If you appreciate the art, you understand it's importance. Randomosity proudly presents George Carlin LIVE from the Class Clown LP, and for the first time EVER on Owens Community College Radio, the "Seven Words You Can Never Say On Television"!
From the archives of the award-winning Randomosity comes ANOTHER SHOW that is previously unheard on Owens Community College Radio. This time, from the classic metal gods and their landmark 1979 live LP. Originally a part of our Summer Concert Series during the hot weather months of 2023, today it's "Unleashed In The East" from Judas Priest on OCCR. TURN IT UP!!!
Closing out our salute to Black History Month on the program, we profile a legendary album by a legendary band, fronted by a legendary black Irishman named Phil Lynott, who changed the face of what a rock and roll band could be. This week, it's Thin Lizzy, and we highlight their double live LP, "Live and Dangerous"!
If you were born anytime between 1982 and 1990, you may very well have Luther Vandross to thank. Crossing boundaries and becoming an R&B pop star in the mainstream throughout the entire 'Decade of Decadence' without MTV until the late 80's (which was a difficult task to pull off in those days), 'Luther' crossed boundaries and solidified his legacy in the world of popular music with a smooth and soulful sound that inspired the likes of Usher, Tyrese, and many others. This week for Black History Month on "Randomosity: Revisited", we profile the life and legacy of Luther Vandross!
Black History Month rolls on this week with a show that gave us one one of our many national nominations from the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System. From the vault, it's Michael Jackson like you've never heard him before. Featuring appearances from Magic Johnson, Smokey Robinson, archival Michael Jackson interviews, and SO MUCH MORE. Originally aired in September of 2022, this is the King of Pop for Black History Month on "Randomosity: Revisited"!
