The Gamblers: The group consisted of Derry Weaver (lead guitar), Larry Taylor (bass), Bruce Johnston (piano), Elliot Ingbar (rhythm guitar) and Rod Schaffer (drums).Written by Derry, 'Moon Dawg' was an instant classic - a blasting guitar rocker with a stunning drum intro and some nice dog howls courtesy of Nick Venet

  • Voices: Larry 'Mole' Taylor
Larry 'The Mole' Taylor, 1942-2019, began playing rock and roll with Jerry Lee Lewis, went on to co-found Canned Heat, who played Woodstock and still tour. He went on to play in John Mayall's Blues Breakers and then recorded and toured with Tom Waits.
In 2018, Larry and I decided to set down some autobiographical information via a series of phone conversations. There are many hours, so I've decided to break them into small segments. This is the first.
