On today’s episode I’m joined by Mat Deveaney (@TheMrDevizzle). Mat grew up in southwestern Pennsylvania and now teaches 8th grade math at Weir Middle School in Weirton, WV. We discuss how educators can share their story and how that he is doing so daily with his Vlog on YouTube.
I share several responses from the previous Question of the Show, “As an educator, if your Tweets are protected, why?” This question will stay open until 11/3/2017. I also pose a new question of the show, “What are you doing to share your story from your classroom and school?” Please respond to those on Flipgrid or Voxer.
Chat Date: 10/17/2017
Join the next session of the #WVEdChat on 11/14 when Rachel Moravec (@tisinaction) leads through a discussion on school branding.
Special thanks to Jeff Ellis (Facebook or Twitter) for his song “West Virginia Hills” from the album “Covering the Distance“
Today’s podcast features a conversation with Jeff Bradbury of the TeacherCast Educational Broadcasting Network (@teachercast and TeacherCast.net). Jeff also serves as the Coordinator of Instructional Technology at Westwood Regional School District where we works with teachers and students to meaningfully integrate technology into the classroom. We discuss the idea of podcasting in education by looking at the idea of what a podcast really is and the benefits for both students and educators.
I introduce a new feature to the show today, the Question of the Show! Today’s Question of the Show is, “As an educator, if you’re on Twitter and have your tweets protected, why?” Head over to flipgrid.randallblack.com to provide a response.
I have also setup a new way to provide some feedback on the podcast by going to the new RandallBlack.com flipgrid!
