The foreseeable future will to spent traveling from Alaska to Mexico in Thelma (our van) with our dogs Layla & Cedar.

This week we are sharing our Top 3 Destinations: When you are Young and Broke.
Thailand, Greece, and Vietnam are indeed excellent options for young and budget-conscious travelers. These countries offer a mix of stunning landscapes, rich cultures, affordable prices, and vibrant nightlife. Here's a bit more about each destination:
Thailand: Thailand is a favorite among backpackers for its affordability and diverse attractions. You can explore the bustling city of Bangkok with its street food stalls, markets, and cultural sites like the Grand Palace. Head to the beautiful beaches of Phuket, Krabi, or the islands like Koh Phi Phi for a tropical paradise experience. Northern Thailand offers charming cities like Chiang Mai, known for its temples and night markets. Accommodation, street food, and local transportation are all relatively inexpensive.
Greece: While parts of Greece can be quite touristy, there are still affordable options for young travelers. Athens offers a mix of historical sites, vibrant neighborhoods, and affordable eats. Consider visiting the Greek islands in the Cyclades like Mykonos, or Paros. The Island of Crete is Britts personal favorite. Although some islands can be more expensive, there are also budget-friendly options for accommodations and local dining if you plan well and avoid peak tourist seasons.
Vietnam: Vietnam is known for its stunning landscapes, delicious cuisine, and affordability. Explore the bustling streets of Hanoi and the lantern-lit alleys of Hoi An. Take a trip to Halong Bay for breathtaking natural beauty. The bustling city of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) offers a mix of history and modernity. The cost of living in Vietnam is generally low, which means you can get by on a relatively modest budget.
Remember that budget travel requires careful planning to make the most of your money. Research affordable accommodation options, street food vendors, and local transportation choices. Additionally, be mindful of your spending to ensure you're getting the most out of your experience without straining your finances.
Keep in mind that the cost of travel can vary based on personal preferences, fluctuating economies, and other factors. It's always a good idea to research the current conditions before making any travel plans.
