The Texas Rangers are heading into a major rebuild. Pitching coach Mike Maddux, who helped guide Texas to three World Series appearances and their first championship in 2023, is leaving to join the division-rival Los Angeles Angels under new manager Kurt Suzuki.

Maddux’s departure leaves a massive hole in a staff that led MLB with a 3.47 ERA in 2025. With 12 free agents, bullpen uncertainty, and roster decisions looming, the Rangers’ offseason just got a lot tougher.
