The Kitchener Rangers needed extra time to put away the Erie Otters Tuesday night. Rangers forward Luke Ellinas got a partial breakaway where he roofed it on goaltender Benjamin Gaudreau putting the Rangers into the second round of the playoffs. It was a thrilling end to Game 5 in front of over 7,000 at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. Both teams skated to a scoreless first period. The Kitchener Rangers had a 3-2 lead going into the third period before giving up three third period goals to a hungry Erie team looking to get back into the series.
