Yoshinori Hayashi has established a singular sound following releases on the likes of Smalltown Supersound, Going Good, JINN Records, Gravity Graffiti, Jheri Tracks and Disco Halal.

Hayashi has studied under Japanese avant-classical composer Mica Nozawa. When not DJing, he works in a record store in Tokyo. The Japanese producer does well to blend and integrate intriguing elements of ambient, eastern soundscapes alongside an eclectic take on house, techno, krautrock and industrial music.

Far reaching and forward thinking, this is the future of electronic music.

Perhaps one of the most fundamental and integral elements to this musical scene within which we operate is the ability to be able to support friends and push creative expression forwards in a meanigful manner. Big or small, if you can play a tune, then we'd like to listen.

Macca is a friend of the website and has been actively involved in electronic music for many years having run and promoted parties up north for a long time. As a disc jockey he is unassuming and kind hearted, keen to showcase the eclectic nature of his own collection whilst ensuring that a happy go lucky ideology can go a long way.

This mix was recorded after hours in East London at the locally renowned Behind This Wall venue, a low key affair with a tasteful soundsystem and big soul.

We invited him to showcase his worth below as he talks shop.

Operating in the North with a great big smile, Jayson Wynters is an MC turned disc jockey turned producer done good. We had the pleasure of watching him play records at Houghton last year and were humbled by his selective presentation of music. His far reaching tastes are best showcased across several hours as he dives and digs between moving parts featuring a stylish array of genres, tempos and blends.

His own music has been released prominently on Semtek's record label Don't Be Afraid but he has also made appearances as a producer on the likes of Mr G's Phoenix G imprint and on Ornate Music.

Based in Birmingham he also has a hand in the running of Cafe Artum, a record shop come cafe he has helped pioneer alongside Adam Shelton.

This May he will feature on our stage as part of the infamous Virgo Festival, an annual outing which has become a staple feature of our summer calendar. One to watch.

Charlie is a DJ and musician firmly on the rise, a worthy ascendency for someone who has been hard at work for many years.

Originally born in Berlin, she now resides in Krakow, the city that she’s been running her party Szum from for the last three and a half years. The party takes place at different locations around the city, including arguably one of Krakow's most forward thinking nightclubs Szpitalna 1, and has seen Charlie book live acts from the likes of Martial Canterel, Novo Line, Not Waving, Tolouse Low Trax and June to join her and other local selectors. Charlie is someone we expect to see big things from in the future and this mix is a perfect representation of why.

It's time to get odd. Real odd.

Your Planet Is Next has been a firm favourite amidst the Ransom Note office since he decided that it would be a good idea to reimagine Cher's 'Believe'.

Since 2014 he has been steadily realeasing abstract house, techno and experimental music without taking himself too seriously. His taste is exceptional and each release has seen his production process evolve in style and stature. Appearances on the likes of Klasse Wrecks and Studio Barnhus have helped stabilize a career in the strange and his music works as well on the dancefloor as it does in the headphones on a long walk home. We originally asked him to record an abstract, weirdo mix as part of our Monday series but as ever things escalated and this is what popped out the other side of the machine.

We're glad it did...

Up next is a producer and disc jockey who has been on the radar for quite some time, a familiar face who has released a sprawling array of music on some of our favourite labels across the last ten years. His music has appeared on the likes of Gomma, Höga Nord Rekords, Les Disques De La Mort and his own La Belle label, of which he is a founding member.

We are talking about Golden Bug, a producer who has worked tirelessly and released an innovative collection of music which draws influence from krautrock, house, techno, electronica and new wave. His style is varied and unique, channelling a punk esque aesthetic in a powerful, forward thinking manner. This is also prevalent when he dj's, as you are about to find out. Not one to stand still or play to the confines of genre - his sets are far reaching and eclectic.
