For the final time, Double A and the gang look back at 15 years of The Rant.  And we hear from some voices we haven't heard from in a very long time.

After a 3 months hiatus, The Rant returns and Double A kicks things off with the announcement that the show will be coming to an end on December 30th.  We recap some of the things that is on our minds and have a good time doing what we love to do.

The boys are back with another loaded show 

Tony is back from Wildwood, Kevin is back from Boston & Matt is right where we left him last week. 

We are joined by the Pale Pro Champion “The Young Gun” Chandler Hopkins to talk about his upcoming defense against Mysterious Q, his time in AEW, the upcoming CYN event, being in a relationship with a wrestler and much more. This is a great interview with Chandler and if you’re not familiar with him, this is a great introduction. Get to know him, he’s going to be a star in this business. 

After Chandler we talk a little about 1995 WWF, The Headshrinkers & Man Mountain Rock before jumping into the NWA. We are on the road to NWA 74. Tim Storm gets gifted a title shot, Tony is a bit annoyed with Powerrr and we talk about Billy’s comments about Empowered. Plus we run down the NWA 74 Card. 

We jump around to a variety of topics, the AEW Trio’s Tournament, Kenny Omega, the WWE Women’s Tag Tournament, the NXT Women’s Tag Champs, Clash at the Castle, Impact Wrestling, Punk/Page & some NJPW

We take a quick break before going Down the Aisle. We end up at the Boston Garden in 1977 for the WWWF. On the surface it doesn’t seem like there is much meat on the bone, but the boys have a blast going over the card. As a bonus, they also hit on some JCP from this day in 1986.

It’s Monday Night and you know what that means, another episode from your favorite podcast. 

We are without Tony tonight, so our good friend and fellow podcaster Kevin Rouge from the Year of Pod sits in on 3rd Mic. 

The boys catch up with what they have been up to this weekend, and Matt gets super annoyed as he has to figure out how to play a video from Tony, with the committee’s announcement on the next Can You Beat That Challenger. 

After Matt loses his mind, they transition into the return on Dexter Lumas, the direction the WWE is going, College athletes vs Indie talent, and Vince McMahon in NXT. 

We are then joined by The GutterSnake Izzy James ahead of his Texas Bullrope match against Kaun for Pale Pro Wrestling. We talk about the wrestling landscape in Dallas, Jeff Jarrett, his move set, The Misfits, Kiss, & much more. It’s a great conversation and an excellent introduction to Izzy James if you are not familiar with him. 

After a quick break the boys talk some AEW Quake at the Lake, and this conversation leads us down a crazy aisle, as we talk Giant Gonzalez, The Yetti, Torito and more. It’s really the best example of us just talking about random wrestling stuff. Kevin hit’s us with a few things from Impact’s Emergence Show before we get to Kevin’s Top 5.

We end up talking about the WWE in a positive light, something we haven’t done in a very long time. Kross’s return, who should take the title from Roman, HHH already improving the product, Women’s Tag Title Tournament and more. Tony hates AEW and the Trios Title, we talk some Quake on the Lake, AEW Fight Forever and some more. We bounce around with some NWA & Impact talk, the Lex Lugar documentary and the news that VICE is brining us a new show based on the territories. 

After Patreon Plugs we jump into this week’s Wizards Rewind. Back to August 1997, the ECW Arena, Born to Be Wired. Matt and Tony aren’t super excited about the show, and Matt 100% romanticized it since it was his first trip to Philly. After spending a good amount of time talking about the show, and Kevin opening our eyes, the boys decide that it was a pretty good show. We talk a bunch of ECW & it’s a great discussion and review.

It’s Monday Night and You Know What That Means

Another episode of your favorite wrestling podcast. 

The boys quickly catch up with each other & talk some NWA. Tony gives us his top 3 from the weekend in the world of NWA. Matt is hot about Billy and the move to put Tyrus in the main event. Tony is disgusted by the amount of titles in the NWA. So the boys discuss, how many titles is too much? 

We are then joined by one of our longest friends and independent wrestlers CPA. We discuss a variety of topics from working AEW against Paul Wight, the CPA character and the Dungeon of Doom among other things 

After CPA we get into some SummerSlam talk and picks before taking a quick break 

Upon our return, we jump right into the Can You Beat That Challenge. The Champion Christian Rocco defends his title against Brendan Heaney in an unbelievable battle. Did Christian retain? Do we have a new champ? Listen to find out
