Epson’s booth at InfoComm 2022 was abuzz due to its debut of the show’s only 21:9 projection-based Microsoft Teams Rooms Front Row demo. We shot a video of it — the complete system includes a bundled solution from MS Teams, Jabra Heckler and Epson (you should watch it; it gives you a glimpse into the future of HyFlex meeting rooms). But, one of the most popular things in the booth was likely Epson’s compact 20K-lumen laser projector, the EB-PU2220.  In all, we shot 10 product videos in the Epson booth. For this episode of Rants & rAVes, Epson’s Ramzi Shakra joined Gary to talk about the company’s IC22 presence and all it showed.

Gary was joined on today’s post-InfoComm 2022 videocast with both NETGEAR’s John Henkel and Laurent Masia to talk about the company’s presence in over 60 booths at the IC22 show. According to Gary, the importance of IP in AV cannot be overstated and he, John and Laurent explain how the services that NETGEAR is providing are a big differentiator for them (along with having complete support for all flavors of AV-over-IP in AV systems). We actually shot four videos on the show floor featuring NETGEAR products, but watch this interview first — especially if you care about the future of AV.

Gary caught up with CEDIA’s Jason McGraw to talk all about this year’s expo. The 2022 show will take place Sept. 29 – Oct. 1. By the way, it’s no longer just a home tech conference. Since being acquired by Emerald Expositions, CEDIA Expo has added work-from-home and resimercial and wellness categories — plus it signed a partnership with IMCCA (the UCC association) and integrated the National Kitchen and Bath Association into its purview. With the growth of home theaters, smart home tech and work-from-home tools and tech since the pandemic, CEDIA Expo is poised to have a great event. Watch and make sure you register now.

When entering the ROE booth at InfoComm, attendees were greeted by a three-story high Black Pearl II giant LED wall designed for XR virtual production sets. Of course, Sharp/NEC will also have a host of LED, LCD, projection and signage displays — but the solutions the combined company offers will be the central message.
