Symphonic metal is a complex form of heavy metal that combines sounds and styles common to a symphony orchestra with soaring vocals, bits of guttural, aggressive drums, and guitars. While bands such as Within Temptation, Nightwish, Delain, and Epica are well-known for this genre, very few Christian bands attempt this style of music.

Divine Martyr from Indianapolis, Indiana is one such band that not only performs Christian symphonic metal...they perform it with a degree of excellence that is on par with the European bands who are most often associated with this genre. The music of Divine Martyr passionately expresses that despite the struggles and tribulations in this life, there is hope in Jesus.
