21 Keď sa Ježiš znova preplavil loďou na druhú stranu, zhromaždil sa k Nemu veľký zástup, keď bol ešte pri mori. 22 Tu prišiel jeden z predstavených synagógy, menom Jairos, a keď Ho uzrel, padol Mu k nohám 23 a veľmi Ho prosil: Dcéra mi umiera, príď teda, polož na ňu ruku, aby ozdravela a žila. 24 A šiel s ním; nasledoval Ho veľký zástup a tlačili Ho. 25 Medzitým akási žena, ktorá mala dvanásť rokov krvotok 26 a mnoho trpela od mnohých lekárov a strovila všetko, čo mala, a nič jej neosožilo, ale naopak: bolo jej vždy horšie, – 27 keď počula o Ježišovi, prišla v zástupe odzadu a dotkla sa Mu rúcha. 28 Lebo si povedala: Ak sa Mu čo aj len rúcha dotknem, ozdraviem! 29 A hneď vyschol prameň jej krvi a pocítila v tele, že je vyliečená z múk. 30 Ale Ježiš hneď pocítil, že vyšla z Neho sila, obrátil sa v zástupe a spýtal sa: Kto sa mi dotkol rúcha? 31 I povedali Mu učeníci: Vidíš, že sa zástup tlačí na Teba, a spytuješ sa: Kto sa ma dotkol? 32 Obzrel sa, aby videl tú, ktorá to spravila. 33 No žena, ktorá vedela, čo sa s ňou stalo, prestrašená a trasúc sa pristúpila, padla pred Ním a povedala Mu celú pravdu. 34 On jej povedal: Dcéra, tvoja viera ťa zachránila; choď v pokoji a buď uzdravená zo svojho trápenia.

Umierajúce dieťa. Dramatická scéna zo života: Niekomu umiera dieťa, dievčatko v rozkvete… Možno bežia posledné minúty jej života a muž zázrakov má čas… Zaoberá sa diagnózou ženy, ktorá má určite čas. Je tu urgentnejší problém! Tak by sme to asi zhodnotili. Viera vo všemohúceho Boha však znamená veriť v správnosť Jeho chvíle, času, zásahu. Koľkokrát nabádame ľudí k rozhodnutiu, tlačíme na ich svedomie, obviňujeme ich, hoci ešte nenastal ich čas. Robíme tak bez viery v Boží zvrchovaný čas záchrany každého človeka. Veď nie sme čísla, či skóre v cirkevných štatistikách! Sme Jeho deti, ktoré Otec dôverne pozná po mene. ON nie je rozpačitý, nepozorný, nedbanlivý pozemský otec. Vie o každom z nás, našej ceste, problémoch… ale i o čase záchrany, životných zlomov, premeny, smrti i vzkriesenia! „Neboj sa, len ver!“ Holá veta z úst Toho, ktorý má svet i vesmír pod kontrolou, nám musí stačiť. Ak nie, zostáva len neistota, zúfanie a strach. Ježiš na to viackrát reagoval: „Ach, ľudia malej viery!“ Za koho ma pokladáte? Spýtaj sa samého seba: za koho pokladám Krista?

Modlitba: Ďakujeme, Ježišu, že si s nami aj v najťažších chvíľach. Ďakujeme, že vieš, kedy a ako zasiahnuť. Vieš, čo je najlepšie pre večný život a podľa toho konáš. Vypestuj v nás Svojím Duchom pokoj, aby sme s vierou prijímali Tvoje časovanie. Amen.

Last week we started with Episode 0, where we explained what to expect from this podcast each week. Today, as the Professor, I want us to spend a few weeks laying the foundation and developing some critical vocabulary that may come up in episodes to come. Vocabulary that will help you to recognize deception and attacks from the enemy and defend yourself against them.

“Discernment: the Defense for Deception”

In today’s “Discernment: the Defense for Deception” segment, we will look at the term cognitive dissonance. Has anyone heard this term before?

Cognitive Dissonance: It is an uncomfortable mental state that occurs when a person holds two or more beliefs that lie in conflict with one another.

The mind is primary only in order. God must first go through the mind in order to get to our hearts. We must know some content in order for us to love rightly. Just knowing facts, however, is not enough. The devil perhaps could write a better systematic theology than any saint but yet will never come to Christ because he hates the things of God. We must also trust Christ with our hearts to be saved.

That is why the Christian faith also speaks of the primacy of the heart. The heart is primary in importance. You can know all the facts about Christ but yet be damned because you do not love Him. Knowing and loving the true Christ are both essential to salvation.

2 Corinthians 10:5 I think if you allow God to be in your heart and then give Him permission to change your mind with truth, He will oblige.
