The EKFT Summer Series is here!! Kayak Fishing Raw will get everyone ready for the big event taking place in Pompano Beach!

Local angler Adam Fisk will join Kayak Fishing Raw to talk about whats biting and predictions for the upcoming event.

Florida native Chad Burkley is the ultimate outdoorsman! Chad called in to talk about catching 11ft Gators to rounding up monster swordfish in South Florida. Chad owns Snag and Bag Outfitters, a Gator charter company. Before catching Gators Chad's passion was catching Swordfish. He did commercial Swordfishing for 6 years and caught a monster 532lber, his biggest catch. Extreme owner Joe Hector & Chad even almost sank offshore in the gulfstream while swordfishing at night. Chad will give the knowhow on catching these monster fish and has an interesting opinion on daytime Swordfishing. 

Kayak Fishing RAW will also go over the upcoming Summer Slam Series & give a fishing report on May fishing in South Florida. The Black Fin Tuna have arrived!

Battle in the Bahamas champion Jon Venarchick calls in Kayak Fishing RAW to talk about winning a fat check for 10k and the experience of fishing & winning this one of a kind international tournament. Jon has been a consistent angler in the EKFT series never missing an event. Back in 2015 he won the Sailfish Smackdown as a new angler to offshore kayak fishing. Jon is a kayak guide for South Florida Kayak Guides in northern FL.

Julian Dalton from South Africa is also calling in to talk about his monster Kingfish being Sharked and almost winning the tournament. Julian made the long trip to fish in the Battle in the Bahamas. He finished 5th winning a 900$ Vibe Kayak.

Extreme angler Doug Perez calls in to Kayak Fishing Raw to talk about Yellow Fin Tuna, Mahi Mahi & much more exotic fish he caught right out front where the tournament is taking place in Port Lucaya, Bahamas.

Kayak Fishing Raw is excited to have offshore kayak fishing Hall of Famer "Kayak Willie" stop in. He will talk about offshore kayak fishing in boat tournaments since the 1970's-1980's. Catching wahoo, sailfish and all other fish.  Bill is a true sportsman and a classic Florida character, He is a skilled craftsman in both wood and fiberglass and has designed and built a number of craft, not to mention his own fishing rods, paddles, gear, airboat, helicopter, swamp buggy and more. Check out the new kayak exhibit in the IGFA in Dania Beach (Fishing Hall Of Fame). In 1985, after fishing the Pompano Beach Fishing Rodeo for three years, Bill “Kayak Willie” Tytler finally scored, catching a 17 lb wahoo in his 16-foot, one-man, burnt-orange fiberglass kayak.

Our second guest is the owner of the Coastal Angler Magazine (Fort Lauderdale Edition) Gene Dyer. Gene is practically a Florida native having moved to Florida just shy of his first birthday from Bethesda, Maryland. He grew up in South Florida, fishing for bass in local golf course lakes and canals and spent his summers visiting his grandmother in Central Florida, exploring the waters of the Harris Chain of Lakes.

Kayak Fishing RAW will talk with "Marlin" Matt from Deep Blue Kayak Fishing who will be supplying rental kayaks for the upcoming Summer Slam Series & much more. We will also talk about permit fishing from the beach, the 2017 Battle in the Bahamas and much more!!

Sailfish Smackdown champ Benny Scoca will join Kayak fishing RAW podcast and talk about his huge win and much more!! Benny landed and released 4 sailfish to win the tournament breaking a EKFT record.

Kayak Fishing RAW's second guest is Oklahoma native Ryan Jones. Jones placed second in the very first Sailfish Smack Down in 2014. He will give insite on the tournament from an out of state angler perspective. He now lives in South Florida and works for one of EKFT's main sponsors Nautical Ventures.
