The Raw Islam Podcast is back after our Ramadan break! We spent last month talking about the blessed month of Ramadan and as we rejoin Imam Azhar and B.C. Dodge they start the podcast talking about Eid (Because that is how we end Ramadan)! And the Imam asks how was YOUR Eid?
Eid is about spending it with friends and family. Eid is a time of celebration, Imam Azhar and B.C. Dodge both recount stories about Eid prayer and the events that followed…and of course B.C.’s story isn’t happy – is it ever?
The Imam then goes on to finish the story that he started in episode 19, about the man who had killed 100 people but was looking for forgiveness. Can forgiveness be given to someone that has done so much wrong?
Imam Azhar uses the example of being thirsty to how some people go about seeking forgiveness…if you are thirsty sometimes the hardest part is getting up and walking to the kitchen, getting the ice, and pouring the water. It is far easier to wait for someone to walk by and ask them to do it since they are headed that way. This doesn’t work for forgiveness, if you want it you can’t wait for someone, no one can get it for you, you yourself must pray to God and seek forgiveness for the wrong you have done.
Also in this episode Imam Azhar and B.C. Dodge take questions from Facebook Live watchers. That is right – you can join the recording of Raw Islam live on our Facebook page and you can become part of the show!
