    :19 - No Ray today, but no problem, as Tony Mazur and Jim Albright manned the ship this morning. They touched on the settlement that Summit and Cuyahoga County had with four drug companies over the opioid crisis. Four other states are looking to similar settlements, as well.
    8:38 - Odell Beckham Jr. is back in the news, and again, it’s not what he’s doing on the field. Well, technically it is, as he was fined over $14,000 for having his pant legs hiked up too high above the knees. Really. The panel, which included Kris Drew, discussed it, and Kris mentioned how he believes Baker Mayfield and OBJ are a bad fit and why Freddie Kitchens isn’t the answer at head coach.
    16:23 - ‘80s hair metal will grace the stage at the Akron Civic Theatre on Thursday, as Dokken and Lita Ford will blow the roof off the place (hopefully not literally). Lita Ford joined Tony for a nice conversation about nostalgia and hearing hard rock music at grocery stores.

    :19 - Ray is out till Wednesday, so guest hosts Tony Mazur and Jim Albright discussed the hard-hitting questions of our day: what exactly constitutes a sandwich? Is a hamburger a sandwich? What about a hotdog? Could a taco or burrito be under the sandwich umbrella? Then it went off the rails.
    12:29 - Our veterinarian Dr. Gary Riggs stopped by to answer questions on cats relieving themselves outside their litter box, what types of litter to buy, and investing in pet insurance.
    18:06 - The Akron Zips are winless on the season, and there’s a great possibility they will finish winless, as well. What will it take for the football program to turn around? Moving down a division? Getting rid of football altogether?

    :19 - Yes, we’ve talked about this a-plenty over the years, and it’s how the state of retail keeps changing. The panel touched on the future of retail, and how stores such as Dollar General have adapted, while others in Kmart and Sears have not and fallen by the wayside.
    6:42 - It’s another election season, and that means another school levy in the city of Barberton. Superintendent Jeff Ramnytz discussed it.
    11:35 - WEWS News 5 is wiping away $1.5 million in medical debt, thanks to their new program Medical Debt Rescue. How are they doing this? Investigative reporter Jonathan Walsh explains.
    17:44 - Scott Wynn stopped by to give his review of the Joker, and he mentioned how another Maleficent is hitting the theaters.
    20:17 - And speaking of film, it’s time for another Fortunato Film School at the Akron-Summit County Public Library. Joe Fortunato discussed To Kill a Mockingbird with Tony, and will do so in long form on Sunday afternoon at the library.

    :19 - US Senator Sherrod Brown joined the Ray Horner Morning Show to touch on various topics affecting us both domestically and internationally. The subjects discussed were the deal struck by UAW and General Motors, the passing of Rep. Elijah Cummings, and President Trump moving troops out of Syria.
    6:58 - Remember the Beverly Hillbillies? Black gold, Texas tea? Ray shared a few fun facts about the Clampetts, which was a show that was canceled when it was number one in the ratings due to the “Rural Purge.”
    13:10 - It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time for our master gardener, Jeanne Poremski, to stop by. She talked about azaleas, proper lawn care in October (including what to do with critter holes), and she answered listener questions, as well.

Nine out of the 16 nominees are on their first year on the ballot: Pat Benatar, Dave Matthews Band, Depeche Mode, Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Judas Priest, Kraftwerk, MC5, Motorhead, Nine Inch Nails, Notorious B.I.G., Rufus & Chaka Khan, Todd Rundgren, Soundgarden, T. Rex, and Thin Lizzy.
    6:17 - We’re coming upon the 30-year anniversary of the disappearance and death of Amy Mihaljevic from a shopping center in Bay Village. The author and podcaster who has been all over this case has been James Renner, and he stopped by to talk about the Amy case and discussed the Porchlight Project, which has helped solve these crimes with better forensic data.
    16:49 - Bill Considine is the CEO emeritus at Akron Children’s Hospital, and he was recently honored by his employer for his work in over four decades with the hospital. He talked about his career and promoted his book, which is in the works.

    :19 - The NBA has had to deal with a PR debacle this last week or so, with Rockets GM Daryl Morey voicing his support for the Hong Kong protests. LeBron James finally spoke, and he seemed to care more about Chinese money than sticking by his American colleague. The panel discussed this topic, which made big news overnight.
    13:47 - Ray spoke with Dr. David Beer from Malone University on a number of topics, which include Turkey and the Kurds, as well as the trade dealings with China.
    20:41 - When was the last time you attended the circus? Probably decades, if ever. States are beginning to get rid of the circus due to mistreatment of animals.

    :19 - Today is celebration of Columbus Day (even though some communities are not acknowledging it), but how how much do we know about the man who sailed across the ocean to the new world? Dr. Kevin Kern is a history professor at the University of Akron, and he touched on the life of Christopher Columbus.
    7:39 - Another game, another loss, another poor display of coaching and catching footballs. The Browns had a 20-6 lead and squandered it to the Seattle Seahawks, 32-28. Ray and Tony heard from Odell Beckham Jr. and talked about the mind-numbing contest from Sunday.
    12:22 - Our veterinarian Dr. Gary Riggs joined the show live from Arnone’s in Fairlawn, and he answered your questions on pets, including the effect travel and vacations can have on an animal.
