Unless you're a lucky shrimp, you can't take a gigantic problem down using sheer hard work. But if you apply that brute force right at the most vulnerable spot, you immediately strip the challenge / problem off of its stability. And thus, you are now that much more likely to win.

The question always comes back to- 

1. Are you willing to pay the price for your action?

2. Are you even aware of the 'long-term' implications of your action?

3. Do you even know the price that you pay for your decisions?
