Trigger warning: This episode talks about young people's experiences with their mental health, anxiety, low mood and experiences of living with different long term conditions.

Production: Kweku Aacht (worker) and Oscar. The group are aged 14-20 years old and are supported by youth voice advisors from the RCPCH Children and Young People's Engagement Team. Poems were submitted by young people and at times voiced by other volunteers.

This episode features excerpts of a play written by Ali, who created the script from his comprehensive study of RCPCH &Us research into children and young people's experience of engagement within the healthcare services. The recording comes from the 2023 RCPCH conference in Glasgow, when the play was performed in the final plenary session by Children & Young Peoples' Engagement Team staff Kweku and Jack.

Who are we?

RCPCH &Us are a network of children and young people from all over the country (UK) who volunteer together to help improve health, awareness and information/education around what matters to children and young people. We have lots of different projects which bring together young volunteers to make a difference on topics like epilepsy, asthma, mental health and more.

The podcasters are young people from RCPCH &Us who have a passion for engagement and volunteering in child health. They will be creating different podcasts over the year on topics that matter to children and young people. We have been learning how to create a podcast, creating and reviewing content, editing and getting it ready to launch.
