RCS Clash Talkin'

This week I get to Talk Clash with the leader of Reddit Oak (and the RCS's newest Council member!), TubaKid, and one of Oak's oldest members, ProE Jockey!

Oak is one of the oldest clans in the Reddit System as the original "O."  The original plan was to discuss the verification process, as Oak was the first clan verified (or reverified) after the formation of the Council, but as Tuba pointed out: to discuss that, it also makes sense to talk about the deverification.  So, we'll talk about Oak's history, the RCS's FairPlay policy and what it means, how deverification happened and also Oak's decision and process to return to the RCS.  In the end, it has a lot to do with commitment to values, to one's clan, and trust on both sides.

It's a good insight into FairPlay, clan verification in the modern age, the process of leader transition from Pika to TubaKid, and also what the RCS has to offer clans then and now, especially as a clan has its members become more involved.

So tune in, and let's Talk Clash with one of our most deeply rooted clans!

This week I get to hound four of the Reddit Hounds.

The Burricane, JayForge, Civil, and Piney join me to talk about the many, many tournaments Hounds is involved in (CWL, RWT, NDL, and, through CrYpTiK VoiiD, MLCW) and how they got there.  Certainly Hounds (both on their own and via their family) is the RCS clan with the most tournaments and arranged wars in their ridiculously full schedule.

I also get to ask what all is up with the Hounds family clans TheBuckEyeGrove, CrYpTiK VoiiD, and Queens Gambit.

We talk clash about why they like being in the RCS and both what it gives to them and what they give to it.  We talk about how all these tournaments vary and why they like each.  We talk about how the family operates.  We talk about the history of Reddit Hounds and their daily operations, how they got to where they are, and also random things like Piney's streams, why maxxed players enjoy the builders base, the constant recruiting struggle, the benefit of having events available to members of a busy war clan, how to reach out to other clans, and the importance of delegating tasks to avoid burnout.

So, leash yourself to this episode and listen to us bark about Reddit Hounds!

Casey, leader of Reddit Rho, joins me with his coleaders mazz and OnExShOtxKiLeR to talk Clash about Reddit Rho!

Rho has quite the history and is currently composed of ex-members from Reddit Demons, old members of Reddit Rho and new members!  We discuss the past glory days of Rho and Demons, what it was like in the RWCS, the issues with merges and splits, and the reformation of Rho along with what brought them to want to reapply to the RCS.  We talk about how it's going so far their first few weeks in the RCS and also their special random troops war that they are hosting this Thursday!

JerseyDiablo of Reddit Upsilon, aka Little Buddy of Reddit Jrs, joins us to talk clash about engineering in the game including what it's like to face engineers, why people engineer, opinons about it and how engineering came to be in the first place.

He has experience on both sides of the equation - both in being leader of a competitive clan that has to face engineers at a disadvantage and of being the leader of a clan that's "fun"gineered on his other account.

We will also discuss war weight management and how the matching algorithm and our understanding of it has evolved over time.

Let's talk clash about engineers!

I was traveling this weekend and unable to get a regular episode for you this week.

Hopefully back to normal episodes next weekend, but for this week, I've put together a collection of Clash of Clans dragon stories for anyone interested!

Like the older fairy tales, these are sometimes dark, some include death, and they aren't all happy, so whether or not these are child appropriate is up to you, but maybe you'll enjoy them anyway :)  All are clash inspired, at least roughly and originally told in Reddit Zulu in game chat.

Included in this set:

Fury Rising (4:50) - A tale of preparing a revenge attack following total devastation of the home village.

Spectre (14:10) - The tale of a dragon who answers the donate call and leaves the others in camp behind.

Gronk (15:33) - A goblin yearns to fly.

Brazos (17:28) - A barbarian decided to tease a dragon and make it spend all day flapping above the camp.

Edmund (19:50) - It was said that Supercell might delete bases inactive over 180 days.  This is the story of the last dragon born in a base that goes inactive.

Winston (23:20) - A tale of Golem horror inspired by the Winston Churchill quote: [Each neutral country] “hopes that if he feeds the crocodile enough, the crocodile will eat him last. All of them hope that the storm will pass before their turn comes to be devoured. But I fear—I fear greatly—the storm will not pass.”

The Dragon on the Mountain (30:48) - The origin of the Barbarian King

Delta (38:08) - The tale of a dragon who decides to accept coins in exchange for providing air transportation.

Enjoy!  Next episode will be a normal RCS Clash Talkin' ep.

This episode is all about Reddit Viper!  A bunch of the clan joined in to Talk Clash.

As the winners of the RCS War Tournment we talked about their experience with that and also discussed Reddit Viper's journey to becoming the serious war clan they are currently, including the Potluck and CWL and how things are going for them right now.  Also, they told me about their reasons for leaving the RCS and plans for the future.

Best of luck to Reddit Viper going forward - we hope the RCS has served you well, but no doubt your adventure as an independant will continue!  May things shine for you as a clan and good luck out there!  Thanks for Talkin' Clash and congrats on winning RWT Season 1!

The Spring/Summer RCS Trophy Push is just now underway!  And I'm very pleased to have had the chance to talk with Baegel of Reddit Elephino and Rejuvyn, formerly of Reddit Troopers and creator of the prequel to our modern scoring system!

In this episode I talk with both and get to catch up a bit on both what's happened with Elephino and Troopers and their time with the RCS and since and also really talk about how trophy pushes came to be and how the events started.  Turns out that they are much the same today!  Listen in as we talk about memories and what the push is all about.

This is the final of three parts talking with those who attended Livestream Events hosted by Supercell from the Reddit Side in Reddit v Forums 2!

In this episode, I talk to Princess Leane of Reddit Viper and Apex of Why So Golem? about what it's like in Finland and at the Supercell headquarters and a bit more about the live stream itself including about the people who attended.  Find out what it's like at Supercell itself from those who got to tour and hang out!  And of course...hear about how they liked the update...that we will all see...eventually ;)
