Anne, Heather & Liz began English teaching placements in Timor Leste between 2011 and 2017, with Heather spending an additional 2 years in Kenya during this time. Our returned educators share about motivations, ways barriers were broken down, what was able to be achieved as a result of being there long-term, the positive impact of English in fueling students' dreams and realising employment opportunities.

Anne-Marie, Peter and Cheree are long-term donors/supports of Palms' Australia. In this podcast they explain how Palms' vision of Reaching Beyond in remote global communities has influenced their lives. They speak of empowerment; having their eyes, mind and heart opened; transformation; connection; mission and solidarity. 

Monica & Antony share their experiences as health professionals whilst in transition to the unfamiliar cultures of Tororo, Uganda and Vunapope, Papua New Guinea respectively. They highlight reaching beyond cultural barriers, understanding a different world view of healthcare & and the fulfillment of relationships in community with colleagues and neighbours.

Meet Guida Cabrita, a "Palm" for Timor Leste 2014-15, who shares the many gifts of working in the community of Bedois.

Four current applicants Veronica, Colleen, Peter & Madeleine engage with our vison as they wait patiently to travel abroad to share their skills with remote communities. Equally as important, they are expecting to learn a lot from the people they will be living amongst.

Palms' younger Participants Rhoe, Martin & Gabby continue to explore our vison, in particular reaching beyond the barrier of culture, understanding it and working with it to effectively share their skills.
