BE IT DONE ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH

The title for our meditation today is: Be It Done According to YourFaith. There was a story of two married couples who shared a similar situation, and wished to have a son. They have been true friends since their teenageyears. Even after their marriage, they still remain close friends. Both of thewives gave birth and had two daughters. They really wanted a son as their thirdchild.

There were suggestions from these two couples' friends, that is for themto do a spiritual pilgrimage. There was a shrine of the Virgin Mary which isfamous for many miracles for Christian devotees. The two couples then went forthe spiritual pilgrimage. There, they prayed fervently and asked repeatedly forhelp through the intercession of our Lady, that the Lord would grant thecouple's wishes to have a son. The candles that they lit never stop burning.

A few months after the pilgrimage, one of the couples received goodnews, that the wife became pregnant. While the wife from the other couple isnot yet pregnant. As time passed by, the good news became booming, the baby inthe womb was a male. The couple whose wife was not yet pregnant, became curiousand tended to be anxious and even disappointed. They went to the other pregnantcouple to share their feelings.

In curiosity and anxiety, they wanted to hear about sharing and theexperience of the couple that was waiting for the birth of a baby boy. Thepregnant mother told them that each time a candle was burned and lit, thehusband and his wife always mentioned the phrase of prayer: "Let it bedone according to God's will". They tirelessly repeat this words, whilethey also continually read the Word of God.

This phrase of prayer is a sign of obedience and surrender to our faith. This was the Blessed Mother's prayer when she received the good news ofheavenly intervention, that she was chosen to become the Mother of God. Sincethen the faithful in the Church have been using it for various purposes inexpressing their faith. Every one who prays this way has a hope that his or herprayer will not go unheard. They really hope God hears and grants them whatthey pray for.

And true as it is. God gave His answers to help people who really needHis love and mercy. His will to help is not according to favoritism. In today'sGospel passage, the Lord Jesus answers the prayers of the two blind men who areeager to see as He said: "Be it done according to your faith." Godalso answers in the form of granting recovery and healing, actions for peoplewho are sick, paralyzed and suffering as it is preached in the book of Isaiahtoday. We too shall always use this prayer of obedience and submission to helpus in all our needs.

Let's pray. In the name of the Father ... O goodand loving Jesus, listen to our prayer request so that the will of the Fatherwill happen to us. Hail Mary, full of grace ... In the name of the Father ...
