I am back from my hiatus with a really super extra long episode all about Percy Jackson and the Olympians, along with my friend Anna who just finished reading them! We get off topic a lot about Harry Potter, school, Catholic saints, and more. This is the first time I've talked about a whole series on the podcast, but expect more coming up in the future about other popular sagas!

This week I talk about The Box in the Woods, about the latest mystery that sleuth Stevie Bell has to solve, but this time she's not at Ellingham--she's at summer camp! I talk about who I thought had done it, I try to figure out what even happened at the end, and there is a surprising lack of David hate.

This week I talk about Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, with my friend Isabel as a guest! We get way off topic discussing other books and random stuff, which happens when the host is an introvert and the guest really likes talking. Also, apologies for the not-great audio quality, Isabel was recording from her phone and not a mic or computer so that is a thing that happens.

I read Blood Like Magic, about Black witches, a futuristic Toronto, killing your first love, and many choices to be made...also stick around to the end of the episode because I will be sharing some book recommendations by Indigenous authors :)

I read a book about fighting back against homophobia and transphobia alongside musicals and romance and Mariah Carey!
this book has content warnings for: suicidal ideation, depression, assault, transphobia, misgendering, homophobia/queerphobia, bullying, Alzheimer's, death of a grandparent. I might not get into everything here in the episode, but it is present in the book.

I read a book with two main characters who are both jerks! (oops all assholes) Other than the main characters it was ok.

Mysterious families and witchy magic! A book that I didn't think I would like that much, but was peer pressured into reading and found that it actually wasn't that bad.
