Today Pastor Tanner Wade looks at the readings for the Third Sunday in Advent, Series B in the Three Year Lectionary. As we look at the readings for the 3rd Sunday in Advent, traditionally known as Gaudete Sunday, we see an emphasis on Joy. Joy that comes from the peace and pardon found only in Christ. Whom God promised to send in the words of His prophet Isaiah, Joy in Christ that is part of our daily Christian existence as Paul reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 5, and Joy that comes knowing the one whom John the Baptist bore witness to in John chapter 1.
