Reads and Writes Podcast

This was a great episode. We covered all kinds of subjects; Connectivity, SSD form factors and density, AI and data processing, future storage medias, power and colling and even tape. Listen in for all the latest storage tech.

Drew Tonnesen has been in the storage industry for many years and has some great insight with vVols, NVMeoF and challenges customers are dealing with.

Cody and Jason talk on the VMware Explorer Expo show floor and talk about the show and new core storage features and announcements.

Dave Edwards talks about different SSD flash and how it has progressed and advanced.

Another deep dive into storage with Scott Shadley from NGD Systems about computational storage. Allowing compute to be more tightly coupled with storage at the system and drive level. This reduces the need for massive compute to find data in massive data sets.

Our first guest is Dr. J Metz who has had a long distinguished career in storage. Currently working for AMD as a Technical Director for Architecture Systems and Designs and is currently the new Board Chair for SNIA.org.

It didn't take long for J to quickly dive into the weeds on storage given. We had a great discussion from early storage evolutions to new technologies.

J can be reached on Twitter @drjmetz or his website https://jmetz.com/

Cody and Jason have wanted to do a podcast for a few years. We finally got around to getting it started.

We will talk storage. Not just virtualization storage, storage in general. People that work in storage, trials and tribulations, successes, etc.
