We interrupt our "50s Classics Remade in the 80s" theme for a short episode with conversations at cons! Back in July, Ready 2 Retro covered LA's biggest horror convention "Midsummer Scream".We already recorded our full reactions and experiences on Episode 148 (click here to listen), but what we did not include in that episode was our FULL interviews with Jamison Newlander, actor who played "Alan Frog" in The Lost Boys, and G Tom Mac, musical artist who composed and performed "Cry Little Sister".

Also there are interviews from last weekend's Toon Con featuring Mark Richardson (Propmaster from the "Power Rangers" series), Steven E. Gordon (director and animator from "X-Men Evolution"), Scott Whyte (actor and voice actor from "The Mighty Ducks" series) and Carlos Alazraqui (actor and voice actor known for his roles in "Reno 911!", "Rocko's Modern Life" and "Fairly Odd Parents").

October is here which means our new theme for the month is "50's Classics Remade in the 80's". We know it's not a great name but it was the best we could come with!

Join us as we launch the theme with the one and only "The Fly" from 1986 starring Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis. The Duchess of Horror returns as she surpringly admits this is her first time ever watchinf the film! How is this possible? She's a HUGE horror fan and gushes over Jeff Goldblum, so how could this be? There's a specific reason, so listen to the episode and find out why!

Spooky September wouldn't be complete without talking about the spookiest movie of all-time! This week on Ready 2 Retro, Max's dad, Tim, sits in the cohost seat for the very first time to talk about the 50th anniversary of The Exorcist (1973).

Both Max and Tim share why this was the scariest the movie they've ever seen in their youth and why it took them 50 years (for Tim) and 20 years (for Max) to revisit this cinematic masterpiece.

Back in 2019, Max and Chris attended "Son of Monsterpalooza", one of LA's best horror conventions. While at the con, they attended Rick Baker's panel who was promoting his new book. This was Chris' introduction to Baker's master craftsmanship in makeup and design and after the con the two went back to Max's house to watch "An American Werewolf in London" (1981).

For week 2 of #spookyseptember, Chris elected to revist the film to see if the magic of his first watch was just overhype. *Spoilers, it wasn't.

Spooky September returns to @ready2retro and joining R2R for the first time is Geo Herrera (@hellageo)! Geo is a HUGE "Puppet Master" fan so it is only right that we reviewed the very first movie from the long list of films that is in this franchise.

In this episode we cover the the inception of "Full Moon Entertainment", our favorite scenes from the movie and Geo shows off his collection of Puppet Master figures from the 1990s!
