Readyforthedraft.com's Gregg Schutze shares his passion for the NFL draft and takes you on a journey leading up to the 2020 NFL Draft.

Episode 16 marks the beginning of the post-draft edition of the Ready for the Draft podcast.  Gregg takes a look at the performances of draft-eligible prospects in each of the Conference Championships, from Ohio State's comeback victory over Wisconsin to Oklahoma's thrilling Overtime victory over Baylor.  Gregg also breks down what the back end of the defense looks like for the 2020 draft.  Grant Delpit as the Jim Thorpe Award winner and should be a top 10 pick, but he's not the only Safety to watch.  Xavier McKinney and Antoine Winfield, Jr. have 1st Round potential, while JR Reed, Hamsah Nasilrideen, Ashtyn Davis and Richard Lecounte lead the second wave of the safety class.   At corner, Jeffrey Okudah is clearly worthy of a top 5 selection and CJ Henderson is expected to be taken in the top half of the 1st Round.  Who's the No. 3 CB?  Paulson Adebo, Kristian Fulton, Bryce Hall, Shaun Wade, Trevon Diggs and AJ Terrell will be battling it out for that spot.

  • Episode 15 - Ready for the Draft 2020 Podcast Series

Readyforthedraft.com's Gregg Schutze shares his passion for the NFL draft and takes you on a journey leading up to the 2020 NFL Draft.

Gregg takes a look at the final full week of the College Football regular season and breaks down some of the key matchups.  Just how dominant was Derrick Brown against Alabama?  Bryce Perkins put on a show both ont he ground and through the air for UVA, but where would he play at the next level?  Jacob Eason, Hunter Bryant and Co. took down Max Borghi and the Coogs while JK Dobbins ran all over the Wolverines.  How did Jon Runyan and Ben Bredeson fare against Chase Young? Tee Higgins and Isaiah Simmons shined in Clemson's big win over South Carolina while Jonathan Taylor and Zack Baun led Wisconsin over Minnesota to win the Big 10 West.  Then there was Joe Burrow, Clyde Edwards-Helaire and company who dominated against Texas A&M; and Jalen Hurts led the Oklahoma offense while Kenneth Murray led the Sooner defense in slowing down the FBS rushing leader Chuba Hubbard .

Gregg also looks at the top LB's in this year's draft, from Isaiah Simmons, K'Lavon Chaisson, Terrell Lewis and Julian Okwara to Dylan Moses, Kenneth Murray, Evan Weaver and Anfernee Jennings.  And don't sleep on Group of 5 prospect Alex Highsmith.

  • Episode 14 - Ready for the Draft 2020 Podcast Series

Readyforthedraft.com's Gregg Schutze shares his passion for the NFL draft and takes you on a journey leading up to the 2020 NFL Draft.

Gregg takes a look at some of the top names at the Defensive End position for this year's draft.  Of course everyone knows the game wrecker that is Chase Young and AJ Epenesa is widely considered the No. 2 DE.  But Gregg really dives into the rest of the draft class as well.  Yetur Gross-Matos lives in opposing backfields, using his length to quickly stack and shed blockers to set the edge against the run while Bradlee Anae is physical and underrated.  Maybe the top DE not named Young or Epenesa resides in Boise.  Curtis Weaver has been a consistent pass rusher for the Broncos and Gregg finds an NFL comp for Weaver.  Kenny Willekes plays with tremendous effort, Alton Robinson and Carlos "Boogie" Basham, Jr. are explosive off the edge, while Joe Gaziano resembles fellow Northwesterd Wildcat and current Green Bay Packer Dean Lowry.  And James Lynch may be the best DE nobody's talking about.

  • Episode 13 - Ready for the Draft 2020 Podcast Series

Readyforthedraft.com's Gregg Schutze shares his passion for the NFL draft and takes you on a journey leading up to the 2020 NFL Draft.

Gregg breaks down the Defensive Tackle position, which is led by Derrick Brown, who should be in consideration as a top-10 pick.  The only other 1st Round lock is Javon Kinlaw, who uses his length and athleticism to  get quick penetration and make plays behind the line of scrimmage.  Teams must weigh the potential versus the production with the likes of Raekwon Davis and Marvin Wilson.  Neville Gallimore wins with quickness off the ball, Raequan Williams is stout in the middle while Leki Fotu is disruptive when healthy.  Justin Madubuike and Benito Jones have proven to be interior pass rushers, while Larrell Murchison and Mustafa Johnson look to be five-techniques in a 34 defense.   A name flying under the radar is Bravvion Roy, who has exceptional quickness for his size at NT.

Gregg also takes a look at the games he watched during Week 11 and looks ahead to the matchups this upcoming weekend.

  • Episode 12 - Ready for the Draft 2020 Podcast Series

Readyforthedraft.com's Gregg Schutze shares his passion for the NFL draft and takes you on a journey leading up to the 2020 NFL Draft.

Episode 12 dives into the trenchs as Gregg examines the top draft-eligible prospects along the offensive line.  Andrew Thomas and Tristan Wirfs are clearly the top two OT's in this draft, but Alex Leatherwood and Trey Adams are rising up draft boards.  Maybe the fastest risers of later are Austin Jackson and Matt Peart, who are now in Day 2 consideration.  Along the interior of the line, Trey Smith leads the way over veteran OG's Tommy Kraemer, Ben Bredeson and Shane Lemieux; while Tyler Biadasz and Creed Humphrey are two underclassmen to watch at the Center position as 1st Round buzz continues to pick up.;  Gregg also looks at the TE position, where Brycen Hopkins, Cole Kmet, Albert Ogwuegbunam ad Jared Pinkney seem to have separated themselves from the rest of the pack.

Gregg also looks back at Week 10 of the college football season and looks ahead to the big matchups this weekend, including Alabama-LSU and Penn State-Minnesota.

  • Episode 11 - Ready for the Draft 2020 Podcast Series

Readyforthedraft.com's Gregg Schutze shares his passion for the NFL draft and takes you on a journey leading up to the 2020 NFL Draft.

The RB position was once thought to be devalued in this ever-evolving game of football.  However, just look at the impact being made by the likes of Christian McCaffrey, Todd Gurley, Alvin Kamara, Ezekiel Elliott, David Johnson, Saquon Barkley.....shall we keep going?  Then there are backs who are carving out a niche for their team, guys like Austin Ekeler, James White, Tarik Cohen, Rex Burkhead, Tevin Coleman and Matt Breida.....this list is continuing to grow.  This year's draft class has five backs who have clearly separated themselves from the rest of the pack in Jonathan Taylor, D'Andre Swift, Travis Etienne, JK Dobbins and Chuba Hubbard.  However, there's depth to the group as Eno Benjamin, Cam Akers, Ke'Shawn Vaughn, AJ DIllon, Lamichal Perine are all turning heads.  Then there's a versatile back like Xavier Jones of SMU whose versatility could surprise as a mid-Day 3 pick.  Gregg takes a look at his top picks for this year's RB class.  Gregg also takes a look at what he saw during Week 8 of the College Football season and reviews the matchups to watch this weekend.

  • Episode 10 - Ready for the Draft 2020 Podcast Series

Readyforthedraft.com's Gregg Schutze shares his passion for the NFL draft and takes you on a journey leading up to the 2020 NFL Draft.

This year's WR draft class is deep, not only at the top of the draft, but teams will be able to land receivers who can contribute on the 2nd and 3rd days of the draft as well.  Jerry Jeudy has long been thought of as the top wideout, but after his Julio Jones-like performance against Texas, CeeDee Lamb is on his heels.  Henry Ruggs III may be this year's Hollywood Brown, while Tee Higgins and Laviska Shenault are big time playmakers.  Jalen Reagor is sudden, while DeVonta Smith and Tylan Wallace is a polished route runner, while Collin Johnson and Michael Pittman are big, physical WR's.   Tyler Johnson and Bryan Edwards are reliable veteran WR's, while Justin Jefferson and Sage Surratt are emerging as playmakers.  Antonio Gandy-Golden is the small-school wideout to watch, while Denzel Mims is ready for his best season yet at Baylor.  Then there's Van Jefferson, who may be the most underrated of the wideouts in this class.

Gregg also breaks down Week 7 action and takes a look at this week's matchups to watch.

  • Episode 9 - Ready for the Draft 2020 Podcast Series

Readyforthedraft.com's Gregg Schutze shares his passion for the NFL draft and takes you on a journey leading up to the 2020 NFL Draft.

Gregg takes a look at the QB position where Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert came into the season as the clear-cut top two prospects at the position, followed by Jake Fromm.  However, with Joe Burrow's success in Joe Brady's pass offense at LSU, can we expect Burrow to crash the party at the top of the QB rankings?  There's also a quartet of junior signal callers who will have a big decision to make at the end of the year and could return to school.  Will Jordan Love, Sam Ehlinger, Jacob Eason and KJ Costello enter the draft or do they come back for their senior seasons and how do those moves impact the QB draft class?

Gregg also looks at what he saw during Week 6 and breaks down the matchups to watch this weekend.

Readyforthedraft.com's Gregg Schutze shares his passion for the NFL draft and takes you on a journey leading up to the 2020 NFL Draft.

Week 5 of the College Football season is in the books and Gregg talks about all of the 2020 draft-eligible prospects whose fingerprints are all over the College Football landscape.  The Bama pair of Tua Tagovailoa and Jerry Jeudy along with the Buckeye duo of Chase Young and Jeffrey Okudah appear to have the inside track as top five picks, but is Derrick Brown emerging to challenge Grant Delpit for the last spot?  Jonathan Taylor may be the top RB, but redshirt sophomore Chuba Hubbard nearly has 1,000 yards through five weeks.  Could he enter the draft???  In addition to Jeudy, Henry Ruggs III, CeeDee Lamb, Laviska Shenault, Jalen Reagor and Tylan Wallace all make a case to be 1st Rounders.  Up front, Tyler Biadasz continues to demonstrate why he'll be a top 20 pick.  Defensively, Javon Kinlaw continues to show why he's considered a top DT prospect, while Isaiah Simmons continues to showcase his ability as a new age OLB.    Okudah isn't the only corner generating 1st ROund buzz.  Kristian Fulton, Bryce Hall, Trevon Diggs and Paulson Adebo are right there.  At the Safety position, Delpit is the known commodity, but Xavier McKinney is closing the gap and is proving he'll hear his name called on the first day of the draft.
