Today as we prepare to be the church by going outside the four walls of the church, we learn four ways to give that will uncork the fountain of life within.

Scripture offers a direct correlation between righteousness and generosity. Simply put, God doesn't bless selfishness, but He does bless generosity. Often that blessing is in direct proportion to the level of our generosity. When we sow generously, we will reap a generous harvest. Sometimes it's an extravagant gift that can uncork the fountain of multiplication within us.

God used a starving widow to feed Elijah. Because she served out of her need, the blessing was multiplied and her needs were met as well. Today we learn 5 ways that serving leads to multiplication.

We serve a God that loves to bless His children, but not for the sole purpose of taking care of all our needs. His vision is much bigger than that. Instead, He invites us to join the blessing. To take what He has blessed us with and multiply it through generosity. The problem is our nature is not to give freely but to hold on to what we have for fear of not having enough. We suffer from having an "addition mentality" that robs us from experiencing God's multiplication.

In the movies the hero always seems to find a way to save everyone in the end. As we look at Jeremiah, one of the Heroes of the bible, we hear a story of a hero who loved God and loved God's people. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't save them all. This left Him broken hearted. But through everything He suffered, it was because of the presence of God that His soul was not crushed. When we realize that God remains close when our heart is broken, we too will be strengthened.

The more aware we are of our problems the less aware we are of God's presence. When we follow Paul's command to rejoice, we become aware of God's presence, and we rewire our brains. This morning we learn 3 ways to help us lean into joy when life is hard.

Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy in the war in our mind as we fall victim to the delusion of control. The truth is, we cannot control most of our circumstances, but what we can do is reframe the way we look at them. This is the "secret" that allowed the apostle Paul to be content in every situation. Even though He was in a literal prison, his mind remained free! Today we will learn three exercises that will help change our perspective and reframe our brain.

Last week we discussed the replacement principle. Replacing the lie with the truth. This week we go a little deeper by learning to rewire our brain to think differently by digging trenches of truth!

Jesus was a God of Awareness, and we're called to be the same! To be aware of those hurting and needs the Good News of the Gospel, as well as act on this awareness.
