We sit down with Bryon Ellington - CENTURY 21 Chief Development Officer to discuss his life and how he ended up becoming the Chief Development Officer for CENTURY 21 as well as the differences between other real estate franchise models and CENTURY 21. We discuss the meaning behind CENTURY 21’s Mission statement “Defy Mediocrity and Deliver Extraordinary Experiences” and what that means and how it has drastically changed the way we here at CENTURY 21 serve our customers. Bryon also provides great advice for the real estate agent that is new in this industry and what they should be focused on.

Meet Bryon Ellington:

Growing up as the son of a real estate agent, Bryon understands both the highs and lows of the industry and has made it his mission to ensure that Century 21 agents and brokers have all the resources they need to truly succeed and leave a legacy for their own families. As Chief Development Officer, Ellington works to advance the brand’s mission of transforming relationships with clients and customers from strictly transactional to experiential and elevate the process with a focus on training, consulting, and recruiting.

With a robust background in education and technology, Bryon previously served as Chief Operating Officer for Century 21 Real Estate as well as senior vice president of the Learning Center of Excellence, Realogy’s integrated learning institute, developing results-driving agent curriculums and growth-focused leadership programs for the company’s global network of brands.  Prior to that, he worked at Keller Williams where he led the national brand’s award-winning learning efforts for nearly 15 years.

Bryon received his bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate in secondary education from the University of Texas and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from the Acton School of Business in Austin. During his downtime, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children and loves tapping into his creative side through woodworking.

We interview Rett Harmon Co-Owner of Century 21 Novus Realty and leads Rettro Group, the team that he formed in 2018.  We ask him about his company CENTURY 21 Novus Realty as well as his unique approach to creating a video that gets his team noticed. We also talk about how Real Estate Agents should market themselves based on their strengths in videos and not try and be like someone else.  

Who is Rett Harmon?  Rett Harmon is an author, community advocate, and contributor to the real estate industry. He is both an active agent and co-owner of Century 21 Novus Realty. Rett began selling real estate in 2001 while attending the UWG where he earned his B.B.A in Real Estate.  C21 Novus is currently growing with 47 agents, 12 staff, and over 600 properties under management. Rett actively lists and sells real estate, and leads Rettro Group, the team that he formed in 2018. Rett enjoys sharing relevant best practices through video, contributing to real estate publications, and speaking at industry events.  He is an Eagle Scout, has ownership in 9 companies, and is passionate about Reels for Easter Seals, a non-profit company Rett started in 2016 that raises money for local Easter Seals. We interview Johnny Knight REALTOR at CENTURY 21 Sterling Realty in West Virginia.

Johnny Knight finished his first full year 2019 ranked number 4 in the state of West Virginia for CENTURY 21. Closing 36 units and just under 7 million in volume. Fast forward to 2020 he sold 67 units and just under 14 million in volume. Recently awarded the 2020 Realtor Rookie of the year for his local board. And is currently ranked number 3 in the state.  He contributes his success to strong leadership and his ability to adapt to the circumstances put in front of him. He enjoys mentoring new agents since he’s still fairly new himself along with bringing value to everyone he comes in contact with.

In this episode, we go through the recent interview of Mike Miedler CEO of CENTURY 21 on CNBC’s Squawk Box talking about the real estate market in 2021.   

Nationally we are sitting on 2.5 Months Supply of Inventory. Generally, that’s at 6 months. 1.28M homes for sale. Major shifts in where people are buying.   Demand will come from Gen-Zers but also a lot will be Millennials. There are currently 90m Millennials.  We are seeing a generational shift in the market due to the large volume of first time home buyers.   There have been 105 straight months of year-over-year price gains. The median home price around the country is right around $311K according to NAR.   With the Interest rates, it’s still cheaper to buy a median-priced home and pay the mortgage than it is to rent.
