What happens when a miracle begins to look more like a curse? In this week’s minishow, Real Horrorshow Podcast dives into Episode 4 of Midnight Mass, where Doctor Sarah Gunning discovers that Erin’s fetus has vanished without explanation—and that there is no evidence she was ever pregnant.

As Erin travels to the mainland for a second opinion, Paul’s resurrection takes a horrifying turn. After discovering that sunlight burns him, Bev realizes that Paul is actually Monsignor Pruitt, returned in a younger body. Unable to appear publicly during the day, Paul secretly administers the Eucharist to Sarah’s elderly mother, Mildred, who recognizes him despite her dementia.

But the mystery deepens when Joe visits Paul and discovers him drinking blood from the Angel, which Paul has been mixing with sacramental wine and distributing to the congregation. Overcome by bloodlust, Paul kills Joe and drinks his blood. The next morning, Bev, Mayor Scarborough, and Sturge find the body—but Bev conceals the truth, convinced that Paul’s resurrection signals the Second Coming of Christ.

Meanwhile, during an AA meeting, Paul lies to Riley about Joe’s whereabouts. Knowing that Joe’s sister is dead, Riley returns to confront Paul and discovers the Angel filling a decanter with its blood—before the creature attacks him.

We break down the episode’s major revelations, including the disappearance of Erin’s pregnancy, Paul’s transformation, the Angel’s blood, Bev’s growing fanaticism, and Riley’s discovery of the truth.
