This week, we look at how something good can be given a place it was never meant to hold. The bronze serpent God once used to bring healing eventually became an object of worship in Israel. In the same way, good gifts like family, success, approval, comfort, control, possessions, traditions, and even ministry can become idols when we expect them to provide what only God can give.
The problem is not always the thing itself. The problem is the trust, authority, and weight we give it.
