What do restaurants and Christians have in common? Both of them require taste and atmosphere to make a good impression. Jesus told His followers to be both salt and light to the world around them to make life better not bitter.

Superheroes are pretty popular right now, but what make a superhero super? Is it just their ability? Or does their ability have to spring to action? Every person in the church is like a superhero, gifted by God for a purpose but sometimes we don't look much like superheroes.

Jesus commanded us to love the church but that can be difficult when you consider how the church at times can harm and hurt more than it seems to help. As we kick off this series we'll look at what Jesus said the church was to be known for so we know what to strive for as we do our best to love the church... people.

Grace is greater because it is not limited to a salvation moment, it initiates those moments drawing people to faith in Jesus but then it goes on to empower the christian life so that we are able to look more like Jesus every day and then it endows (or blesses) the follower of every spiritual blessing in King Jesus - including our adoption into God's family where we are heirs with the King of the whole Kingdom!

Sin is a sickness of the heart. The physical acts of sin are committed because of the internal desire to be the King of our own lives. But a much better life awaits us if we say no to our evil desires and yes to living out the Kingdom of God in our daily lives.

Romans 8:12-17

We are destined to fail when we try to live by our own strength. We cannot do good 100% of the time. God knew this and sent His Son so that through Him we might have access to the strength we'd need to live like Jesus.

Failure is a part of our everyday lives. We don't do the things we want to do for God and instead do the things we hate. Our plan is work harder to, "do the right thing." But God's plan is for us to surrender so that He can work the right things in us.

For love to function as God intended it must be a full, well-rounded love. If it's just one type or form of love it's not enough to sustain a lasting relationship as marriage was intended to be. So we've got to learn how to love in every form within marriage, not just, the ones that come easiest. In this message Corey relates the different types of love within a marriage to the different rooms within a house (a love shack if you will) in order to see how each is needed if the whole is going to work properly.

From the very beginning God's plan for marriage has been consistent and clear - one man, one woman, one sexual partner for one lifetime. It doesn't always work out that way but it is The Way.
