Jesus runs away from Joseph and Mary and into the Temple where He spends 3 days listening and asking questions of the religious leaders of His day. Panicked Parents find a confused Jesus who doesn’t understand why they would be looking for Him or upset... sound familiar?

In the Bible we learn what love is and what it isn’t. God loves you and wants you to know what love is so you can experience real love in your life, so you know how to show it to others and so we’ll all look more like Jesus - who loved us so well. God also loves everyone... yep e v e r y o n e... and wants them to know what real love is, which is where you and I looking more like Jesus comes in to play.

What does it mean to have hope? When life is a struggle or you don’t know how to move forward hope gives you the ability to push on instead of giving in or giving up. God wants you to have a hopeful life. A life that considers the impossible not just possible but probable.

The first thing on God’s Wishlist for your life (after your salvation 😉) is Abundant Life. What does it mean to have abundant life? Is it a life filled with money, power or position… or a life of connectedness, contentment and joy that comes from the Lord?

We often think worship is what we do in church on Sunday mornings with the band or guitar... or maybe it’s what happens in the quiet of the morning when we’re alone with our Bible and God... But worship isn’t something that we can pigeon hole to one or a few activities. Worship happens whenever we live, love or look like Jesus. When we live out our faith, when we act with a servant’s heart or we give because of our faith in God, we worship.

There’s more to giving than a number on your budget or balance sheet. While money is a tough subject for many people it’s precisely why Jesus and His disciples addressed money so often. Money,… well, it’s one of the biggest hinderances to fully following Jesus. It’s a hurdle people often trip over. Giving has always been a heart issues, not a money issue.

Being a part of a church family is a lot like being a part of a physical family, it works best when everyone’s working together. And even though there are a lot of different ways we could serve we’ve each been gifted by God for the way in which we do serve. But don’t be caught off guard, if you’re a part of the Kingdom you’ve got a part to play in the Kingdom.

When it comes to faith Jesus made the first move, He loved you first. As a follower of King Jesus the rest of our lives are spent trying to look a little more like Him every day - and that starts in our very own family. While we're not responsible for the faith of our family, we are responsible for living out our faith first, in our family and then the rest of the world.

David's prayer of repentance ends with his recognition that God isn't concerned with how many sacrifices David has made but whether or not his heart is surrendered. No amount of sacrifice can overcome an unsurrendered heart.

Following David’s affair with Bathsheba and his murder of Uriah he’s confronted with his sin by the prophet Nathan. Instead of rejecting Nathan or refusing to face his sin, David repents before God; he turns from wrong and starts doing right. But there’s a problem, he can’t be good enough on his own, he needs God’s help.
