If we’re being honest, most of us men like a quick fix.
If something’s broken, we want the tool, the answer, the three-step plan - and preferably something we can have wrapped up before lunch.
But healing doesn’t always work that way does it?
In Part 2 of "The Wounded Warrior", we’re gonna look at some of the parts we tend to skip when we’re trying to move past the pain too quickly. We’ll identify some of the patterns that are easy to fall into, the ways we protect ourselves without even realizing it, and why some of those old reactions keep showing up long after we thought we were done with them.
And maybe one of the most important things to remember when we’re dealing with that little guy inside of us is this:
We have to stop fighting him.
In this episode, we’ll look at some practical ways to stop fighting that wounded little boy—and begin fathering him instead. To give him some of the patience, reassurance, protection, and truth he may have needed all along.
Psalm 34:18 says:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
God doesn’t ask us to overpower the wounded places in our story. He invites us to bring them close - to Him.
Because sometimes healing doesn’t begin when we finally get tougher. Sometimes it begins when we stop running, stop fighting, and allow God to show us a different way forward.
So today, let’s go a little deeper beneath the armor as we continue the conversation about "The Wounded Warrior" - learning how to stop fighting that little guy inside of us and start fathering him instead.
I’m really glad you’re here today as we wrap up this series.
Let’s dive in.
