  • 11. I wish I knew

Hindsight is 20/20 right? If only I could go back in time and tell my pregnant-self a few pearls of wisdom, words of encouragement, or just simple ways to prepare for the enormous transformation that was to come. Here are some of the things I wish I knew before becoming a mother. #letsbereal

  • 10. My birth story

Welcome to the rollercoaster story of my labour, birth and hospital stay. It was long and it was traumatic! I spent over 18 hours in active labour, 5 hours pushing, a week in hospital, had two emergency medical calls and a night in cardiac care. It does have a happy ending however. I overcame all of the hurdles and both my baby and I headed home healthy...eventually. Enjoy the ride! #letsbereal

  • 3. Newborn hell
You’ve heard of the phrase “newborn bliss” but have you heard of “newborn hell”? That was the reality for me. The hardest thing I’ve ever done in life is raise a newborn. Sleep deprivation, chronic pain, anxiety and loneliness were all mixed into my newborn bubble of so-called-bliss. Having a newborn is no walk in the park, so why do we think it will be? #letsbereal

  • 2. The invisible load, checking-in with my mental health and feeling angry
This week I discuss the importance of checking-in with your mental health and my own struggles. I then discuss the invisible load of motherhood and the toll this can take on our mental health.* Then, anger - is there a healthy way to express it? Being real, this episode was hard to make while I’m still “in” my own mental health challenges, but if it helps someone, it’s all worth it. #letsbereal
