This is LONG overdue!  This conversation was so amazing, and Alex is such an inspiring and motivational person that I feel AWFUL for not sharing this with all of you so much sooner.  Alex's perspective on priorities, fear and choices is impeccable and is definitely an approach on life that you need to hear in order to continue to broaden your own perspective and approach to life.

It is amazing what happens when you start to take action.  When you identify what you want, you find what is important to you and you move relentlessly in that direction.  It may seem daunting at first, before you move.  But move we must!  Once you do it will truly feel as if the entire universe is conspiring to help you to achieve your end state.  You will inevitably run into obstacles that must be removed, destroyed or avoided.  But after having the wind at your back nothing will deter you from your goal. 

This isn’t just about the importance of momentum, but about the power of it. There are certain techniques and actions you can incorporate into your life that can help you to not only begin getting momentum, to build it up higher, but also how to plan for times when it will wane, because it will, inevitably do so. There are ways to overcome this before it even occurs! Tune in to catch wind of some of these strategies and to continue to build a better brighter and more compelling future for yourself.

It must be nice! You're so lucky!  Have you ever heard these expressions?  Have they ever been directed at you?  How about you? Have you ever used them? Maybe it's time to understand luck a little better than you do now.  There is not just pure dumb luck of chance and happenstance.  You can put yourself in a position to be asked these questions by your friends and family! What is Mental Toughness?  What does it mean to be “Anti-Fragile”?  They are two very important phrases that can not just help you to survive through life, but to thrive in the best AND in the WORST of times.  How can you benefit from adversity? I bet you have, and if so I wonder what the real extent of that thought was.  How much of leadership, mentoring and managing do you really understand and could you effectively run your organization better than the current regime? 

If so why haven't you taken steps in doing so?  Likely because you're not ready or willing to actually take on that responsibility. 

Time is our most valuable resource.  It's non refundable, non renewable, and no amount of money, power or influence can get it back once it is spent.  Be deliberate in your life and your choices.  Make plans, be steadfast, but not rigid.  

When you are around other people, whether it's in the workplace, at home or with your friends disputes, disruptions, conflict, and disagreements are inevitable. This isn't something to worry about! It is actually an opportunity for your team to grow stronger together than you ever imagined possible.arnit

How do you become superman in the battlefield of ideas and on the debate stage? Identifying what it means to be successful in a debate is step one. Once you identify this you must work your ass off in order to even come close to realizing this type of success. It doesn’t just happen. Our pride and ego will not allow for it naturally. You must combat this with patience, knowledge, and respect. You must respect yourself enough to put in the work, to care enough. You must respect your opponent enough to have their back and support them in their argument. And you must respect the truth above all else. The truth, or more accurately, the pursuit of truth, will help to raise the tide of all boats.

Monday was the day that we commemorate the life of the one and only Doctor Martin Luther King Junior.  I was drawn to spend some dedicated time focused on him on this day.  I was particularly drawn to two quotes by MLK thrown out there by a couple of friends.  They were perfectly timed and placed as I was furthering my studies of courage and bravery in the context of ancient Greek philosophy.  So, here is to you Good Doctor, on this amazing day (acknowledged publication is more than a day late and a dollar short, but I did record on your day!)
