  • #49. Inhumane Immigration Policies

Dive into "Inhumane Immigration Policies", part of our Project 2025 series, where we take a hard look at the shortcomings of U.S. deportation strategies and border wall policies. 🚧 From the mass deportations of undocumented immigrants to the billions spent on incomplete walls, this episode digs into why these approaches fail to meet expectations and explores more effective, humane alternatives.

    In this episode, we cover:

    • 📉 The Failure of Mass Deportations: Why this costly strategy doesn't address the root causes of migration.

    • 🚧 Border Wall Myths: Despite billions spent, most undocumented immigrants enter legally and overstay visas.

    • 💬 Trump and the GOP's Immigration Agenda: How Agenda 47 and Project 2025 impact U.S. immigration policy.

      • 📊 Shocking Statistics:

      • 60% of undocumented immigrants are visa overstayers, not border crossers.

Welcome to another episode of Real Talk with Mary Contrary and Starfish, where we dive deep into the controversial topic of federal civil service reform, specifically focusing on the "2025 Mandate for Leadership" and its implications for public service. This episode, titled "Politicizing Public Service – The Controversy of Schedule F," explores the radical proposals that could redefine how the U.S. government workforce operates.

The "2025 Mandate for Leadership" document, produced by The Heritage Foundation, lays out a bold plan to overhaul the federal civil service. Among the most debated elements is the introduction of Schedule F, a proposed category of federal employment that could dramatically increase political influence over career civil servants. But is this a necessary reform to cut through bureaucratic inefficiencies, or does it threaten the very foundation of a nonpartisan public service?

Join us as we navigate the complexities of these proposals, offering insights, expert opinions, and a balanced view on what these changes could mean for civil servants and the public they serve.
