We present our 777th Show on JOY and hope there is magic in numbers.
The eccentric and musical Kransky Sisters make a very welcome personal return visit to the JOY studios and cheer us with details of their forthcoming Christmas Concert – “A Very Kransky Christmas’, as well as a sensuous rendition of ‘Santa Claus is Coming’.
The current scandals of Hollywood are nothing new – it seems that gossip and intrigue have followed the film industry from its early days. We learn more about Rock Hudson (born 17/11/1925 – who died from AIDS complications on 2/10/1985) and his close friend and fellow-gay-actor George Nader who stayed with him to the end. Pier Passolini (died 2/11/1975) was a controversial figure who was at the centre of post-war intellectual life as a visionary artist, a defiant homosexual and producer of scandalous plays and films like “Salo” (1975).
Another lesser scandal in Hollywood is the current in-fighting with the Original Village People and the various ‘replica’ Village People troupes who live on the reputation of the original team – all the time singing the jaunty camp songs written by the gay Jacques Morali (died 7/11/1991).
Topics like these and some humour every week with Chris, Gordon and Phil.
