As more and more acts of violence and chaos spread worldwide, it is now more obvious than ever that the real world dominates our existence. The consequences of our actions, no matter how minute we may feel they are, have long lasting effects that shape generations. However, most humans continue to reject reality for alternative worldviews, often referred to as spirituality. For decades, humans feared virtual reality, aliens and artificial intelligence as the things that would end humanity. I wholeheartedly disagree with this view of the world. Virtual reality has failed to gain any real popularity. Aliens, if they exist (I don't believe they do and you are not going to convince by paying Barrack Obama a few bucks to imply that they might), seem quite disinterested in us. And artificial intelligence remains severely limited by the simple fact that people refuse to pay for it, preferring human interaction to robots. The threats we hyper focus on are mostly imagined. But there remains a real threat to our reality, and that, of course, is our willingness to replace reality with fantasy. We seek out the knowledge that we want to know. We deny the knowledge that challenges our worldviews. Reality is calling folks. It misses you and it wants you back before it is finally too late.
