Although Max and I make great friends we both find it difficult to make them. In this episode we talk about how getting and maintaining solid friendships makes a huge difference to our happiness and health.
This week we talk about drugs. Which are really bad and which ones are recreational. How to prepare your kids for the world of drugs. By just saying no we fail to prepare our kids for the real world. Chances are no matter what you say they are going to try drugs. Why not have a real discussion about it and prepare them on whats safe and how to protect yourself.
We discuss an App designed for parents to track and control all their internet experiences and their location. Max and I both agree that this concept is a bit terrifying and could produce distrust and resentment from your children. Helicopter parenting is BAD!
Why are Sex Education Classes so weird? This week we watch a sex education video from the 1950's. We also talk about the differences between the sex education Jared got back in the day compared to Maxwell. A tonne of laughs and awkward moments...Enjoy ;)
In this episode we discuss what it was like for Max doing online learning during the lockdown and the prospect of returning to school during a pandemic. We talk about his visit with his Mom and Grandparents. Max learns some interesting details about his Grandpa that changes his opinion of him. We even sneak in some talk about the American election.
What does it really take to communicate with your teenager? First listen and learn from them. Then respect them and be real about what you are discussing. Teenagers want real talk and trust. Make it about them and they will open up. *Please note that as these are real and honest conversations some explicit language is used.
What you as a parent think trust is might be very different from the point of view of your Teenager. In this episode we discuss how you both can get on the same page. *Please note as these are real discussions some explicit language was used.
