Reason for Truth

IS THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT THE SAME THING AS THE FILLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT?  Dr. Ron Rhodes one of my teachers and mentors from years past wrote in his book titled  “THE BIG BOOK OF BIBLE ANSWERS”  No, as these are two separate ministries of the Holy Spirit.  Dr. Rhodes says that he believes baptism is a one-time event that takes place at the moment of conversion, pointing to 1 Corinthians 12:13). And if baptism did not happen at the moment of conversion, some believers wouldn’t belong to the body of Christ, even though they would still be saved. Tune in to learn more...

What do we gain from all of our "TOIL" or our all of our "HARD WORK". God has given man an eternal perspective so that he can look beyond the routine of life.
Ecclesiastes 3:9-11 speaks to The God-Given Task, saying...

“What gain has the worker from his toil? I have seen the business that God has given to the children of man to be busy with. He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.”

Today, we will allow God through preacher-king Solomon answer the age old question as to what we human beings get out of all our "TOIL", all of our work here on earth.

Busyness is a symptom of living in our technologically, less humane, and less relational world. God's word makes clear that tasks are important and good, when kept in their proper order and priority We are called to LOVE GOD and to LOVE OTHERS as our two top priorities. Busyness is a tool of the evil one if not the evil one himself. As such, let's make sure to order our time and priorities to reflect our love for God and for others. And that means ordering our day by pushing up against being too busy!

In the Bible, a talent (kikkār in Hebrew; tálanton in Greek) was a unit of measurement primarily used for weighing precious metals like gold and silver. By the New Testament era, it had also become a specific denomination of money representing an immense amount of wealth. TODAY we are going to look at the PARABLE of the TALENT in Matthew to see what Jesus was actually telling us regarding the importance using what God has and continues to given each of us our lifetime for His glory. Let’s get started.

In MATTHEW 18:7 Jesus says: “Woe to the world for temptations to sin! For it is necessary that temptations come, but woe to the one by whom the temptation comes!” (Matthew 18:7). What does Jesus mean by His statement that it is “necessary for temptations to come?” According to Matthew 18:7, temptations are necessary because of the sinful state of the world, not because God causes them. Jesus states that it is "necessary that temptations come," meaning they are an inevitable part of living in a fallen world where people's actions and institutions can lead others into sin. The passage warns that while temptations are unavoidable, individuals are still accountable for their actions and are condemned if they are the cause of temptation for others.
