  • Episode 311: Magical, Spiritual, Miracle Sparkle-Land Adventures - With Some Re-Did Vocals
Oh, my. I felt awful about my abysmal vocals on the first version of this song, so I re-did parts of them. I'm still not all the way satisfied, but my goodness. I was actually going off pitch quite a lot in that initial recording. I dunno what was wrong with me that day. Bleh. Usually, if I sing off pitch, I'm able to catch it right away and fix it, but it wasn't till a few hours later, when I re-listened to the song, that I realized, oh no. Oh, no. No, man, no. I think my pitch has been off in places cuz I'm still recovering from those cool looking masks I wore that wrecked my throat. I'm not sure why singing off pitch is one of the effects of my throat being all screwed up. But, yeah. Sorry for having posted a little ditty with horribly off-pitch vocals. Bleh. Not that this version's that great, either, but it might be an improvement.

  • Episode 310: We're Having a Music Festival and It Tastes Like Corned Beef
I was sitting there this morning, considering the possibility of having a green day. What I mean by that is smoking pot and stuff. I was all conflicted cuz I wanna get some stuff done today, and I'm not usually that productive when I smoke pot during the day time. Then I imagined what kind of music I'd write if I were stoned. This is the song I imagined.I'm gonna tag this "explicit" cuz even though there're no curse words in this song, this here description has illicit substances in it, which might qualify as being "explicit," in terms of discourse. Unless you're in California, where weed's legal.

  • Episode 309: Liver Land
I woke up from a dream this morning where a person said "Liver Land is inspiring a lot of dirt-bags." "Liver Land" sounded like a band name, so I wrote a song about it.

  • Episode 308: Magical, Spiritual, Sparkle-Land Adventures
This is the next song on the possession album. Everyone is walking home , in stunned disbelief that they'd only been in the valley of the bears for about a day or so. It feels like it had been a year and a half, probably because they had enough magical, spiritual sparkle land adventures to last a lifetime. Or several lifetimes.

  • Episode 307: Backwards Birthday Song Turned Around
Okay, yeah, I took the recording where I performed the Birthday Song from 1-20-22 backwards, and I turned it around so you can hear how accurate I was in performing it backwards. It's a hoot doing these little backwards ditties, but it's also a lot of work. Figurin' out how to play and sing and rap a song backwards is labor intensive, my goodness gracious me.

  • Episode 306: Backwards Birthday Song
I used to do this thing, where I'd perform my songs backwards and record 'em. I thought, since I'm having a gargantuan writer's block, I'd try doing it again. This is a backwards version of the Birthday Song, which I posted on January 20, 2022. The next thing I'll post is this very recording, but turned around (a backwards backwards song!), so you can see how close I came to the original. (I hope this makes sense).

  • Episode 305: Over an Hour Away From Home
Today's Saturday, but I'm gonna have this song go live a few days later, so these little ditties are a little spread out, in terms of when they go live. I was coming back from a road trip, and my GPS told me my ETA was a little over an hour. I was all mixed feelings-ish, y'know. I wanted to get home, but I was all sad about leaving the nice place I'd been in. Poopity poop poop poop...this song sounds a lot like "12 Hours Left of Sunday," which I actually came up with, also, on the way back from a road trip. I guess road trips induce songs of a particular flavor of depresso-land-depressingness to come to me. Yeah, I don't like plagiarizing my own self (or anybody else, for that matter). But this might be different enough for it to be okay. Yeah, I'm not sure yet.The picture of me in a car is an excerpt from a graphic novel I'm a-writing. It's a different car than the one I currently drive.

  • Episode 304: I Apologize for My Music Sucking
Yeah, the music I've been writing for the past month or 2 hasn't been floating my boat as much as my better stuff. It's one of those things that happens to me from time to time, and I never know how long it'll last. It's a writer's block of massive, epic proportions. Geez, man. 2021 was a really good year for music, and there were some nice little numbers in early 2022 for sure, but for most of 2022, I just haven't been feelin' it. As you noticed, I keep on doing songs, anyway, even if they all consistently suck. I think eventually, I'll get my mojo back. I think my mojo is taking a vacation because it's pooped out. C'mon back, mojo! So, in short, this song is an apology for all the people who come here, looking for the goodness of what I used to offer and get disappointed by the sucking sucky-ness, on top of my voice bein' all fucked up, as I mentioned a few days ago. Writer's blocks are dumb.

  • Episode 300: Already, I Am Bored!
Sometimes, when I record a song that turns out to be boring, I think of this demon guy, who was on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He sat in a hot tub, and he got bored really easily. He says, "already, I am bored!" Oh, yeah, there's a loud thing after the music stops, so if you're wearing headphones, you might wanna turn down the volume.

  • Episode 303: Home Grown Avocados
This song came to me in a dream this week; it's about home grown avocados. Oddly, I realized after the fact of recording it that it's a song about green things, and this is St. Patrick's Day. That's almost kind of cool. Sorry the vocals suck so much on this song. They suck balls.
