Rebecca Pittenger's Podcast of Weird Songs

Here's a rough demo of a song that'll be in the possession album. It's weird, because it's such a general-themed song, and yet, the strong feeling came to me that the me-character (or maybe all the characters) in that album need to sing this here song!

I was all unhappy with some o' the vocals in the recording of this song I posted yesterday, so I redid some of the vocals.

This is a song from the point of view of the fire god. He talks about how fires are more destructive these days cuz of climate change, and that's why he feels too guilty to go back to the sun and face his family and friends. He also talks about his relationship to the girl.

In this next song in the possession album, Timmy, Bobby, and Father O'Malley are in shock because of the me-character's confession about what she did in that past life, where she burnt down a village after becoming a fire goddess. The bears tell the 3 of them that they have also done bad stuff in past lives. This history of mankind is filled with people doing shitty-bad things to each other, and those 3 are no exception.

This is a song about something that happened that made it so I'm not dead. Someday, I might tell you all what it is, but not yet. It's gonna let it sit inside my brain for a while, cuz I just made the full realization of this whole thing this week.

This is a happy li'l song that came out of a dream this morning. It's a ska song about a convertible car, with caterwauling kitties in it.

I got the hook for this song from a dream...I figured if it was about peeing out sacred waters, maybe the character in the song snuck into a church and drank out of one of those baptismal fonts. Y'know, she was thirsty, and that was the only water source in the vicinity.

This is the next song in the possession album - the girl confesses to her friends that, in the past life where she got burned at the stake, she and the fire god team up and burn the whole village down after she becomes a fire goddess.

I posted this here song yesterday, but there was some distortion in the vocals at one point (argh), so I remixed it at a lower level. But the distortion was still there, so it's in the original recording. It's a teeny tiny bit improved in this one, so I'll go ahead and post it, and remind myself to be diligent about making sure the gain ain't turned up too high next time I record vocals.

My night vision got really bad about a week ago, and I'm not sure why. I asked my unconscious if it could tell me why, and it said it was cuz there's a broken promise inside my eyeballs.
