Monica Meng genuinely believes in doing well, by doing good. After leaving finance to pursue her passion in education, Monica became a preschool teacher in Manhattan before transitioning into education technology. She worked at various ed tech startups (Nomster Chef, ChitChat VR, Knovva Academy) in business development, marketing, and instructional design and as a UX researcher at Google. These experiences have led Monica to co-founding Good Capital where she works to promote socially responsible investing and financial empowerment for women.
In today's episode, I learned the answer to so many questions that I'm surprised more of us aren't asking!
1. What does my money do when I put it in the bank? Does it just there or is it being used by the bank to fund causes that I would personally support?
2. How do I retire comfortably based on the way I'm earning now?
3. What does it mean to invest sustainably? Is that good for me?
4. What mistakes am I making with my current portfolio management? Did I miss one important step?
5. Is the gender wage gap something I have to be concerned about?
6. I can probably do all the financial planning myself....right?
WRONG! Listen in and let Monica tell you all about investing for yourself and for the world we live in.
But before you go, we'd like to leave you with one piece of advise that Monica firmly believes in too: INVEST IN YOURSELF AND KEEP ON DOING IT!
It's the sole biggest investment that you can make in your lifetime and the returns are immeasurable. Trust Monica. Trust me.
