Although the weather wasn't great Thursday, May 26th in Amsterdam - many fools showed up for the 'G8 Leaders Fool's Pride'. The procession started around 19.30 in the Leidsestraat. Shouting, singing, dancing - with great music!

Shortly after we started also 2 police horses wanted to join, but they weren't clownpletely under control (in the mood to start running...) so unfortunately they had to leave.

Of course we had our moments for a short break at some of these stores, especially McDonalds - to think and dance about McWorld and McPolitics!

Finally we reached the Dam square and connected for a while with the people of the Spanish Revolution. Time to have our 'G8 Leaders Fool's Pride Press Conference'.

Don't understand how; but they were all present at the Dam square: Obama, Angela Merkel, Cameron, Sarkozy, Stephen Harper, Naoto Kan and Medvedev.

What happened? "YES WE CAN - BUT WE WON'T!!!"

Next to it the G8 politicians at the Dam square explained they were also humans: also impressed by what happened at the squares all over the world - in Egypt and other Arabic countries, in Spain and even in Amsterdam. That's why they declared: "It's time for Real Democracy sooner or later or maybe even Now!!!"

"Therefore why we should stop with G8 and don't make it G20, but G-7Billion people on the planet: the G-Unlimited!!!"

Of course not all G8-leaders agreed - the press conference ended in a big internal fight. They ended all lying down on the ground, too bad, isn't it?!

December 18th is International Migrants Day: the right moment for some rebel angels to migrate for a while from Heaven to one of the ugliest places on Earth: the parcing place in front of the Zaandam detention boats...

Around 12.00 the angels arrived. First thing was showing a big banner with a heavenly message: "We wish you a free 2012"

Next to it the angels introduced themselves:

Of course security was shocked to hear these bright lines; they requested to leave the parcing place immediately. But the angels were focussing on one of their songs:

"We wish you a Free Christmas

Oh, break down the borders,

We won't go until you're Free-ee

We wish you a Free Christmas

Then police arrived and they also requested to leave (one, two, three times) and then nothing happened - not even an ID-check. Which by the way shouldn't make sense at all because angels have great ideas (a world without borders!) but of course no ID-cards.

Another important reason to stay was the massive noisy applause the angels got from the people locked up in the boats. For sure it was heartwarming - it really touched the angels!

In the mean time they closed the fence of the parcing place (very stupid: they forgot angels can fly!). After several songs and some angel dances 'being locked up this way' attracted the attention of the angels. They walked slowly to the gate around 12.45 and then a miracle happened: they opened the gate and all police cars and vans drove away... Should it be because of the eternal light the angels were spreading?

It was a pitty: because a guided tour to the police station should be part of the visit of these heavenly creatures. Thanks God or Allah or Whatever there were more miracles happening. Around 13.00 it was absolutely great to take a look at the armada of boats coming to the waterside of the Zaandam Detention Centre.

An inspiring day loaded with resistance ended with a last song:

'Celebrating' 1 month detention Zaandam with the Brig Clowns

Tuesday, July 5th: 143 people were arrested during the eviction round of Galery Schijnheilig. One month later, Friday August 5th there are still 3 people detained. Why? Because these courageous people still fight for the right to don't cooperate in your own conviction - the right to don't give a name. The answer from the ones in power: put them under heavy pressure and keep them jailed in the Zaandam Detention Centre.

Clini Clowns are working in hospitals, demented people get support from Faria Clowns - so with so many people suffering in detention centres simply because they don't want to show or don't have the right wrong papers it's about time to cheer these brave people up with Brig Clowns!

A very first time for Brig Clowns isn't easy. First of all we almost got lost on our route to the Zaandam Detention Centre. But finally we reached the place Friday, August 5th - 15.15

The clowns rang the bell at the fence. It took a while: a security guy showed up. We friendly told them we had our first date in the Detention Centre. Confusion: 6 Brig Clowns waiting to enter... Of course he couldn't answer this foolish question - he was clearly clownfused!

So he told us he had to call someone. The director of course! Who else could solve this giant dilemma!

Negotiations started: compromising and prostituting ourselves because of the holy goal to get a guided tour in the Zandam Detention Centre. We offered them to put off our noses and wigs, even remove our beautiful make up. Again telephone contact with the director: we could enter if we should put off almost everything and every clown item. And our photo clown couldn't enter at all: one of the boat bosses loved to show his almighty power by refusing the offer to put his camera in a locker at the entrance.

We knew it shouldn't go smoothly - but now without our beloved clown items we almost felt naked... Anyway: we payed this horrible price and could enter, were checked (ID's), were accompanied to one of the ships, were checked again (same ID's), were checked for metal belongings, had to leave personal stuff in lockers, were brought to the waiting room. The negotiations and proceedings took almost 45 minutes: around 16.00 we finally met some of the great people we were looking for!

All clowns had to choose just 1 particular NN - so we had to split in different teams. We were guided to tables with numbers and were told not to have contact to other tables. As Brig Clowns we always follow the rules but not completely understand them.

The talks were great! We asked them about the facilities on board of this 'cruise ship': "Where is the swimming pool?, the bubble bath? the casino? the bar? the cinema? and wasn't it about time the ship should start to sail! Althought the service was hopefully friendly (guess champagne and caviar included) we clearly understood it's very boring to stay in the same harbour for such a long period. One of the NN's had still hope the ship should sail to Atlantis...

To be honoust: the service on board of this 'cruiseship' is really lousy! We heard some clear examples and the only thing we could say is: "Respect for everyone who lives under these circumstances!"

Next to talks we did a few games and sang a few songs: the old Irish song 'the Wild Rover' in an adapted version ('the Wild Squatter') and 'Folsom Prison Blues' from Johnny Cash.

The moment for saying "goodby" was filled with hugs (also not allowed) and wishing these wonderful people strength to go on!

Then another half hour started for all formalities to leave packets and postcards. Again ID's, forms, etc.

Ending in the area close to the boats with that great "Bananaboat Song" from Harry Belafonte (with that nice line about "wanna go Home!") The applause we got was massive banging on barred windows. Tenths of people did. Even when we walked along the boat where we didn't sang, people made that noise. It touched us. Guards came to accompany us to the exit. They said we should stop greeting people. One of them said: "You don't know what you're doing to these people". A Brig Clown reacted: "They great us, we should pay respect!"

Int. artists discover new tourist attraction Zaanse Schande

What a coincidence! Thursday Sept. 22nd, the day the Zaanstad city council decides about a development plan which allows the detention boats to stay there a few extra years, a group of international artists discovered the Zaanse Schande ('Zaanstad Disgrace'). A place which inspired them to paint in the afternoon and to have an improvised exposition in the night...

Around 15.30 a group of international rebel artists arrived at the Zaandam Detention Centre. De Zaanse Schande is a very special place! Maybe you know the Zaanse Schans, but to be honoust windmills are boring after a while: they all look the same! But here you have a new tourist attraction which is really interesting and inspiring in a very weird way...

The artists found pretty fast a beautiful spot at the parking place. From there they had a good overview: the boats, the fences, the guards, etc.

Around 16.00 a van from the department of justice came along in the area behind the fences. The driver showed interest by talking with the artists. Before him there were already other figures (guards) who came along; they didn't say much. One of them (guess it was one of the boat bosses) walked a bit further and started to call. Couldn't hear what he said. Let me guess: "Ohhh, police we now have some artists here who are painting detention boats... Could you please come as soon as possible!".

16.15 a van with 2 male and 1 female police arrived. The big question was: "What are you doing?". The reply was quite obvious: "Painting and making beautifoool art!". Seintje, one of our dearest rebel artists, answered the police in French.

Last but not least the artists had to give their ID's and some of them even their addresses - but it was clear the police didn't want to arrest the artists for making art: "Could you please stop after a while because the people in the boats are getting a bit restless because you are here. We hope we don't have to come back".

16.45 the painters left after waving goodbye. They got some last noise back. It was time to leave for a short break elsewhere.

Around 19.00 the rebel artists arrived at the Zaanstad city hall. At the entrance security asked what the plan was. "We are invited and we want to show our art inspired by the Zaanse Schande!".

There the waiting started. One by one the members of the city council entered. Many of them were interested in the improvised exposition. The artists tried to convince the members of the city council "what an extraordinary location the Zaanse Schande is - and what a great opportunities it should have as a tourist attraction! And look at these boats; couldn't people have a tourist tour inside?!".

Also spontaneous talks about the development plan and the people detained for having no papers followed. Several members of the city council took a painting with them into the hall: Jan de Vries (D66), Patrick Zoomermeijer (SP), Natasja Groothuismink (ROSA) and a few others.

19.30 the meeting of the city council started. The artists left: the outcome of the meeting should be too predictable (the detention boats will stay till 2013) - but the best compliment for the rebellious character of the art made by the artists followed at the beginning of the meeting of the city council: all 6 members who had a painting got the urgent request to first remove the paintings from the hall...

We understand clownpletely: art screaming for freedom could be very dangerous!!!

Brotherhood of the Eurocalypse

Saturday, Oct. 15th people from all over the world were protesting - but in Amsterdam there was a small group 'defendending' the bankers, speculators and politicians: the Brotherhood of the Eurocalypse.

The monks arrived around 12.30 at the square near the stock exchange, made some rounds at the Damrak, Warmoesstraat, Dam square and Beursplein and did where monks are good in: praying and singing in a spiritual way.

For example the holy song about 'Profit':

Thanks to you, we understand that humanity is sinful,

To economic growth!

Hallelujah!

There were many more prayers and Euroligious songs. The Brotherhood prayed at the doors of the stock exchange (which is of course the Cathedral of Eternal Capitalism) and many other spots near the square. The monks even prayed on their knees in front of the police. Everyone appreciated the holy work, except during a short moment at the Damrak when the monks prayed near a photo stand for tourists. The business guy pushed the Brotherhood of the Eurocalypse roughly away - he misunderstood the monks should be protesting...

The monks returned to the Beursplein continueing to sing and pray: "Stop Health care!, Stop Education!, Stop Culture! - but Save the Bankers!, Save the Speculators! and Save the Politicians!"

First Foolish Training Kunduz Police at GreenLeft congress

The Kunduz Police should start to get education anywhere on the planet. No better place Saturday, February 5th than the GreenLeft congress in Utrecht! Around 10.30 the first recruts showed up and tried for the first time to secure a building where (you never know!) Taliban could have been hidden. Unfortunately the coördination with other uniformed forces wasn't always the way it should be...

Several times trying to enter the hall failed dramatically. Security guys didn't know about the new urgent mission and pushed the battailon of the Kunduz Police out of the building. The only remaining option was to go on with our foolish training outside the building. Happily there was professional support of the Dutch police from Utrecht - who loved to exercise with us! Playing with them was really fun!

We know the next Dutch contribution to a NATO mission isn't very cheap: starting with 500 million Euro. But then you'll get something beautifooool! We learned for example the typical Dutch polonaise and sang: "Olé, olé, olé - we're going to Kunduz - we're going to Kunduz!"

To be honoust: Kunduz Police loves to sing! What else could you do in a country where you're part of a corrupt regime! Another great line we sang was: "Oh, oh, oh Kunduz - i really don't know what we could do there!"

And there was also that fantastic old song from Country Joe McDonald. We used it with just a small adaption:

"1, 2, 3 What are we fighting for? Don't ask me I don't give a damn. Next stop is Afghanistan! 5,5,7 open up the pearly gates. Well I ain't got time to wonder why - whoopee! we are all gonna die!"

Next to it we learned crawling (slowly crawling to the main entrance), running around and freeze! and also checking people if they are from Taliban. But maybe the best part of this impressive first lesson was learning to negotiate effectively with our Dutch police collegues about almost getting arrested...

You'll understand we're looking forward to join the rest of this educational programme. GreenLeft first wanted a police mission from the European Union in Afghanistan (that's what they told in their election programme last year) but we really love to be part of this NATO shooting party! Therefore it's wonderfooool GreenLeft helped the rightwing minority government with their first crucial victory a month before elections. It's needed! Especially now!

We don't know if there's any Green Left, but for sure they are Right!

Demonstratie 'Nationaal Bananen Front' in Ede

Zaterdag, 26 maart was een schitterende dag om het 'Nationaal Bananen Front' te lanceren in Ede. Natuurlijk was daar ook een mars van neo-nazi's. Iets voorbij 13.00 uur begon de leider van de Nederlandse Volks-Unie met zijn toespraak. Maar het duurde niet lang voordat ook het 'Nationaal Bananen Front' begon met hun veel betere campagne: "Eigen Bananen Eerst!"

Waar het nu echt om draait, is het stoppen van het binnenkomen van buitenlandse bananen in Nederland! "Dit land heeft orde nodig - dit land heeft Nederlandse bananen nodig!"

Om die boodschap helder te maken, hielden enkele enthousiaste leden van het Nationaal Bananen Front hun eigen toespraken en riepen leuzen over Nederlandse bananen. De aandacht van de media voor die vent van de NVU was voorbij. Eerst de echt belangrijke zaken - de media volgden nu de start van de campagne voor Nederlandse bananen: "Nederlandse bananen moeten worden beschermd! Geen bannanen meer uit het buitenland!

Het Nationaal Bananen Front demonstreerde op een heel heldere manier hoe smakelijk Nederlandse bananen zijn door ze aan de mensen van de media en politie aan te bieden en ze in de richting van de NVU te gooien. Meer dan 70 Nederlandse bananen vonden op deze manier hun (extreem) recht(s)e weg!

Het was verrassend! Zelfs voor de politiepaarden; ze hadden nog nooit zoveel bananen boven hun hoofden zien vliegen... De politie en deze paarden probeerden de campagne te stoppen, maar eerst zonder succes. Het duurde even omdat de leden van het Nationale Bananen Front werden omgeven door journalisten, fotografen en filmers. Overal clowneske verwarring; voor de politie en ook voor de neo-nazi's. De media waren duidelijk meer geinteresseerd in de opwindende bananen campagne dan in de saaie toespraak van NVU-leider Kusters.

Uiteindelijk moest de geimproviseerde 'persconferentie' stoppen en begeleidden rond 13.30 de politie de leden van het Nationaal Bananen Front voorbij de Klinkenbergerweg in de richting van de bossen oostelijk van het treinstation Ede-Wageningen. Hoewel de politie duidelijk maakte dat ze ook onze heerlijke Nederlandse bananen ondersteunen, verordonneerden ze het Nationaal Bananen Front om de omgeving waar de neo-nazi's marcheerden niet opnieuw binnen te gaan.

Het Nationaal Bannanen Front volgden de orders. Wat zouden we anders moeten doen?!

Demonstration 'National Bananas Front' in Ede

Saturday, March 26th was a beautifooool day to launch the 'National Bananas Front' in Ede. Of course there was also a march of neo-nazi's. Shortly after 13.00 the leader of the Nederlandse Volks Unie (Dutch Peoples-Union) started his speech. But it didn't take long before the 'National Bananas Front' also started their far better campaign: "Own Bananas First!"

The real Big Issue should be to stop the foreign bananas entering the Netherlands! "This country needs order - this country needs Dutch bananas!"

To make that message clear some enthusiastic members of the National Bananas Front held their own speeches and shouted lines about Dutch bananas. The media attention for that guy from NVU was gone. First things first - the media now followed the start of the campaign for Dutch bananas: "Dutch bananas should be protected! No more bananas from abroad!

The National Bananas Front demonstrated in a very clear way how tasteful Dutch bananas are by offering them to people from media and police and throwing them in the direction of the NVU. More than 70 Dutch bananas found their (extreme) right way!

It was surprising! Even for the police horses; they never saw so many bananas flying above their heads... The police on these horses tried to stop the campaign, but first without success. It took a while because the members of the National Bananas Front were surrounded by journalists, photographers and filmers. Clownfusion all over the place; for the police and also for the neo-nazi's. The media were clearly more interested in the exciting bananas campaign than in that boring speech from NVU-leader Custers.

Finally the improvised 'pressconference' had to stop and around 13.30 the police accompanied the members of the National Bananas Front beyond the Klinkenbergerweg in the direction of the woods east of the train station. Although the police made clear they also support our delicious Dutch bananas, they ordered the National Bananas Front to don't re-enter the neighbourhood where the nazi's were marching.

The National Bananas Front followed the orders. What else should we do?!
