Satan's deception of mankind started in Genesis 3 when Satan told one lie and one truth. He told the woman God lied to her, then told her she would know good from evil if she ate the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. The woman ate and gave to her husband with her and he also ate. Both disobeyed the clear command God gave. Then they both knew they were naked and hid themselves, from God, among the trees of the garden. Because they both sinned, they faced the penalty of sin, which is death. Satan, and our sinful nature, always paints a pretty picture of sin, but never tells the full impact of sin. Today, rebellion against God's leadership is clearly seen as people use drugs, tobacco, alcohol and many other things., Satan also makes the study of God's word seem like terrible hard work, even listening to a sermon seems difficult. But a lifetime of studying God's word is better than anything the devil presents.
