Not all countries face the same misinformation movements at the same time. International collaboration between skeptic groups allows for better anticipation of upcoming misinformation trends and the production of educational content prior the raise of misinformation topics.
During the pandemic, we saw the raise of old mysteries, conspiracy theories, pseudo-medicines, pseudo-science; including of course covid misinformation -- a lot of which can be studied from a folklore and traditions angle.
As well, people have started to recognize how armful misinformation is and the need to address it.
Skepticism seems growing all over the word, but still in small communities. While the term “skepticism” no longer seems to generate interest, “critical thinking” seems preferable in a lot of countries, as well as “pro-science".
