Dr. Montalbano explains the signs of both diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA, high blood sugar) and hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), why it happens and what to do if it does. 

Together, they highlight how to help a child with a diabetes diagnosis take control of their diagnosis, feel empowered and confident and address how to help children cope with feelings of isolation or otherness that may arise because of their diagnosis.
